Had 2 lol moments near the start then..... :/ considering how bad it was I wouldn't be surprised if Sony decided to use the hack (which never mentioned the film) in their favour by promoting this movie

Tim Budong 12-25-2014 05:21 PM

There were some great lines... Oh well

This movie's problems goes well beyond the screenplay.

Movie was ok. A few laughs here and there but overall avg at best. Seth was same ol same ol which is fine but JF was over the top like many have mentioned.

ilovebacon 12-25-2014 11:54 PM

I just watched the trailer this morning and it looks like a pile of shit. Definitely do not want

Amuse 12-26-2014 04:31 PM

The movie was pretty bad. What a waste of time. I rather watch North Korea documentaries on youtube.

GGnoRE 12-26-2014 05:11 PM

If you guys think the hacking incident was a marketing strategy, you obviously have to read more about what Sony has to deal with... Please let me know how this makes economic sense?

SkinnyPupp 12-26-2014 06:47 PM

There are people who think this was intentional? :seriously:

Anyway, if you want to see a documentary of people who were allowed into North Korea and told more than they were supposed to, there's the Vice film when Dennis Rodman first went there. You can tell that this movie was inspired by it (but the documentary is actually much funnier, despite not even being a comedy)

Slifer 12-26-2014 07:09 PM

Movie sucked ass... what a waste of my time :swear:

Matlock 12-27-2014 01:16 AM

The best parts of the movie were probably in the first 10 minutes.
Everything else was pretty stupid, but it still had some funny parts throughout the movie.

The other good thing about this movie is you get to see a lot of BC, since it seems to be mostly filmed in BC. This adds to the entertainment value as you get to figure out where each part is filmed. (I'm pretty sure North Korea has completely different trees.)
I do also remember driving around last year and seeing a bunch of military style vehicles with Korean letters all over in trailers! I was wondering what they were for. Now I have my answer.

604CEFIRO 12-27-2014 03:44 PM

I'm kind of pissed, I paid the $7 on youtube, and the resolution is 480p?? WHat the fuck?

Soundy 12-27-2014 04:56 PM

Got it downloaded in 1080p :P Might watch later after the hockey game, just so I can say I've seen it.

DC2aDDicT 12-28-2014 09:47 PM

Saw it online, quit about half way through.

muteki 12-28-2014 10:50 PM

The movie was pretty awful. Felt like a waste of time, even for a "free" movie.

boostfever 12-28-2014 11:23 PM

2/10 would not watch again. most of it was filmed in Vancovuer (if not all)

OGCStrike 12-29-2014 12:06 AM

meh didnt laugh as much as i thought i would

mb_ 12-29-2014 12:11 AM

Wasn't the worst I've seen but I won't be watching it again

palepilsenpin0y 12-29-2014 03:04 AM

Overall, the movie itself was not very impressive at all. It was pretty bold, yet bland, but had a couple of good laughs though.

Considering I didn't pay a single cent to watch it in high definition even though I was originally highly likely to go see it in the cinemas, I can't say I can complain!

FerrariEnzo 12-29-2014 07:35 AM

had a few laughs.. but thought it was stupid... not something Id watch over again...

neggo 12-29-2014 08:05 AM

What a shitty movie.

I thought it was promising with all the hype but it was a complete waste of time. I found myself fast forwarding through parts trying to look for laughs.

mos_skeeto 12-29-2014 10:08 AM

I think it will be kinda funny and super pointless if someone released a HDCAM rip of this movie by recording it off their TV.

SpartanAir 12-29-2014 10:11 AM

I didn't have high expectations at all, I think Seth Rogen movies blow. But I've actually seen this twice now (once on my own, and once stuck with friends) and I have to say it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Definitely ridiculous and awful at times, but not horrendous.

And also cool to see local actor friends. The "Sook" character who hooks up with Rogen is local, and has no accent whatsoever; she had to put it on for the film. :notbad:

Hondaracer 12-29-2014 11:59 AM

Lol some people had pretty high expectations saying its "shit" etc lol

Watched it last night, HD version. Had a few good laughs, lots of stupid awkward parts and you can obviously see why NK didn't want it released it makes Kim look like a complete clown. All in all though it was a pretty typical Seth rogen comedy.

Wonder where the parts with the tank and missiles were filmed, it looks like either out in Chiliwack somewhere or like pit lake/pit river
