For more better airflow under the hood. Lets the hot air get out quicker... So they say.

I think it started as a bandaid fix for a poor cooling system.

Akinari 10-18-2015 10:31 PM

I never understood the logic behind hood risers/spacers. Do people not understand the basics of aerodynamics where the air pressure under the hood is generally low pressure and instead of venting the hot air out, the risers will decrease the efficiency of your radiator. The only time when the hood risers are effective is when the car is parked...?

Honestly, more of a ricer thing :derp:

If people want lower under-hood temps, vents need to be strategically placed.

^ even with a rebuilt tranny it could still shit the bed on you. its a design flaw with the transmission itself. other than that, they're great cars.

Yeap, i am aware.
Transmission job was done 5000kms ago. Got the invoice and warranty still remaining. I hope it doesn't shit a brick anytime soon

You could also bulletproof it if you plan on keeping the car by doing a 06-07 AV6 swap, which I believe is a direct bolt-on (only for the 00-03 TLs).

Grats on the car, they are awesome to drive
