What the hell Kadri are you watching?

That mouthpiece came into the team talking like he deserved a spot on the team just because he's Nazem Kadri and got cut down real fast... Hard worker??? All NHL'ers are to a certain degree but he's a floater amongst them... At this point I'd go so far as to say he's a bust for a 7th overall pick, 8pts in 23 games this season? He came out of the gates ok at near a point a game but he's basically tailing off into a 3rd liner at best... One that's not defensively responsible or hard enough on the puck either. Bad combo.

Hands only get you so far in the NHL... Gotta take off those blue tinted sunglasses.

Went to the Islander vs Lightning game last night.

Dat Jumbotron... Holy moly

You should see the ACC..There's a reason Tim Leiweke made jabs at the place after he left MLSE. Considering the market and the fact that two professional sports teams play in there, the place is a dump and can hardly be considered a "world-class" cutting edge arena.

For shits and giggles because it was the the first article that came up in a search:
2015 NHL Arena Experience Rankings
2015 NHL Arena Experience Rankings - Stadium Journey

#15 - ACC
#26 - Rogers Arena
Booyah :alonehappy:

Rogers Arena is less of a dump now after the upgrades

but the food..goddamn... so expensive, but pretty decent.

EuterVanWasser 11-30-2015 06:28 AM

The food's not that bad.. jeebus, I just shelled out $15 for a bag of popcorn at Disney's Frozen... anything for my kids! Except Canuck's tickets, those things are way to expensive. :)

Vansterdam 11-30-2015 06:44 AM

dat lobster roll at rogers arena :sweetjesus:

Ronin 11-30-2015 06:48 AM

I got invited to check out the level 500 restaurant next month.

Apparently you go a little before the game, have a 5 course meal then snacks throughout the game.

Well I can't speak for the rest of the NHL arenas in the league as I haven't been to them. However, I did catch the Canucks Vs Leafs last winter and omg was the place ever dead! The buds were scoring goals in bunches that night, yet the place was silent. Not to mention, its prohibitively expensive to attend a game in the Tdot!

Jmac 11-30-2015 08:56 AM

I used to go to Leafs pre-season games every year when I was in Toronto every September on business and the energy in the building was pretty decent, but I suspect the crowd is a bit less affluent than regular season games.

Building itself didn't seem any better than Rogers Arena.

Of course, the Leafs always seemed to win those pre-season games. I remember when they first signed Komisarek and I went to a game when the Leafs played the Penguins (with Jordan Staal being their only remotely good player). Komisarek through a dirty hit and Staal got beaten up by him when he stood up for his teammate. All I heard after that from Leafs fans around me was how awesome Komisarek is :lawl:

I also don't notice the upgrades at Rogers Arena.

The only upgrades that Aquaman is focussing on are his condos around the rink. An upgrade in the revenues that are going to line his deep pockets. :troll:

When a buddy and I leave the arena after watching a game, we would rather take the stairs to the street level exit of the arena, and walk near BC Place to get to our cars because that condo construction makes the walkways on the Georgia Viaduct so crowded after a game.

It is literally like walking in a can of sardines if you decide to walk on the viaduct after the game. My buddy tells me to be careful in case pickpockets try to jack my wallet during that walk on the viaduct. :lawl:

New jumbotron.
New lighting/ice projection for intros etc...
Light bars along the glass.
Revamped concessions.

If you want to call them upgrades.

pastarocket 11-30-2015 09:44 AM

I guess the installation of metal detectors at the main entrances can count as an upgrade. :troll:

It's a good security measure after I heard about that Anaheim fan who carried a gun to go into the Honda Center.

willystyle 11-30-2015 10:06 AM

Most of that is publicly funded in the US. I am certain most residents would be pissed if our tax dollars were at work for arena constructions and upgrades.

Spoiler!

That's nothing compared to the billions of public money used to build football and baseball stadiums on the PROFESSIONAL level.

spoon.ek9 11-30-2015 06:25 PM

Hondaracer 11-30-2015 06:27 PM

One of the most overrated arenas i've ever been to was the Bell Center, like talk about blowing hot air just cause it's the habs..
