Big man got big shoes to fill, if he can actually use his size in a physical way it would be awesome. Something this team has never really had.

Nabatron 03-10-2016 08:53 PM

He looks very mobile and atleast can hit the net with his shot!

Listening to the radio this afternoon was so painful.

Can't believe people are already harping on this kid as if he's already a washout before he even gets to start.

Mike Oxbig 03-10-2016 09:07 PM

People need to harp management to allow this tank to happen. Who are they trying to fool picking 5-10 overall

Atleast we will feel good going in to the off season

Down Goes Brown: How to flip the switch and rebuild - Sportsnet.ca

Good read in regards to tanking.

Losing mentality vs winning mentality.

Remember giguere ripping on his teammates about some of them are more worried about their vegas trip than the games. That was when sob was on it. Lol

After that, all you need is a lottery win or two, a smart GM, great ownership, a top coach, excellent development, a good goalie, and a few late-round picks to blossom into unexpected stars. Easy, right?
:okay:

stars that will probably all never align in Vancouver

Mike Oxbig 03-11-2016 08:19 AM

We have demko as the next schneider and maybe matthews and marc crawford back as future coach lol

We just need to tank another year for a franchise D

Crow quit as coach in Switzerland today and is coming back to North America. He said on 1040 this morning his goal is to get back into the NHL and he would even be willing to coach in the AHL or become an NHL assistant coach.

6o4__boi 03-11-2016 08:38 AM

he's gonna sign on as an assistant or the AHL coach of whatever team drafts Auston

Mike Oxbig 03-11-2016 08:50 AM

Utica coach cause he knows WD will get fired.

Down to watch some early 00s run and gun hockey if we aint contending for cup

Liquid_o2 03-11-2016 09:32 AM

Crawford as new Canucks coach next year :alonehappy:

murd0c 03-11-2016 09:35 AM

Travis Green is the Canucks next head coach, I think bringing him up and having Crow as an assistant would be fricken perfect.

I doubt it especially if the Leafs tanking working cause they sure aint getting rid of Babcock

6o4__boi 03-11-2016 09:42 AM

Willie's gonna get at least a 20 game slack next season

doubt he'd want to be an assistant unless he's exhausted every possible Head Coaching gigs

of the lottery teams, i could see him ending up in CBJ, Sabres, Yotes or maybe Sens or Jets. If Laffs or Coilers get 1st overall i just don't see him playing second fiddle to McLellan or Babcock unless he absolutely wants to stick with Auston

In 2010, we had the Sedins (2nd and 3rd overall picks), AV, home-grown draft picks (Kesler, Edler, Bieksa, Hansen, etc), the best goalie combo in the league in Luongo/Schneider....that was our best chance ever.

...and it only took 40 years...

:okay:

I'd totally take Crow back as a coach. I like what he did when he was around.

Jmac 03-11-2016 02:23 PM

I met Crow during the 2010 playoffs when we were playing the Kings. I believe he was coaching Dallas at the time, but they didn't make the playoffs. Anyways, I was standing behind him in the beer line and recognized his voice when he ordered. I said, "Hey Marc," shook his hand, asked him what he thought of the game, and then a bunch of other people started asking him questions, so I went and ordered my beers.

When I got back to my seat, a couple of Surrey jacks behind him kept taunting him and throwing popcorn at him and his wife until they were ejected. Felt pretty bad for him, but to his credit, he never reacted to those douchebags.

Eichel is helping out the Canucks' quest for a higher pick. So smooth.

carisear 03-12-2016 12:41 PM

Well, when we had crow we had talent for a run and gun offense. We could afford to have a pylon in net. now? we are stuck with plugs. We need a GM who could actually work with crow to give him decent pieces, which as we know at the moment, is not going to happen.

jeedee 03-12-2016 02:30 PM

the sleepover comment by Virtanen :lol

hi-revs 03-12-2016 02:49 PM

Finally, Virtanen on the 1st line! Took long enough to try him up there!
