Yeah I dont want to get too high on canucks drafting in top 3 because well you know its the canucks right nothing good ever happens to us...well things have been changing for the better we did sign Demko, Stetcher signed as well could possibly sign Drake things are looking up abit.

Thing is with JB he makes terrible trades/asset managment but one thing that fucker does well in is draft! So if we are out of the top 3 its pretty much a crap shoot but will still be confident on who JB picks...just hope he doesnt go off the board and pick some rando lol

Hondaracer 04-22-2016 10:45 AM

Guess I gotta order my demko jersey

lolwut.

Says he does well in draft and then the next sentence says something completely contradictory.

Ahh the St.Louis Blues, the mirror image of the Canucks when it comes to finding ways to disappoint fans over the course of 40+ years. I almost have some funny feeling they'll choke again but I hope not.

it's been 46 years of shitty luck and misses and to expect anything otherwise is just a set up for disappointment.

this way, i'll feel like i've seen it coming and won't get so down when worst case happens

Goes along with one of my sayings in life "Expect the worst and be pleasantly surprised when something good happens" lol

^ story of my life as a Canucks fan :alone:

we need a crying jordan smiley lol

Depending on what happens in the off-season signing wise, I'm sure this won't be the last time canucks contended for the first over all pick within the next couple years. Hopefully we don't get to many bandaid players or else we will find ourself picking mid pack and that will make the rebuild that much harder, unless we get some good/lucky draft choices.

6o4__boi 04-22-2016 01:45 PM

if Vegas gets approved for a hockey team starting in 2017...would they automatically get the best odds to land 1st overall that year?

Get bandaid players and trade them before the deadline like TO did this year.

I don't get why a rebuild/retool/re-_____ has to be the way where you sign bandaid players and trade them for picks or be a the very bottom for a high pick ( which it's nice if we do land a good player).

If the sharks end up winning the series against LA, I think they were once a team who were going to rebuild as well. But they were able to surround their older players in Marleau and Thorton with younger players now. I can easily see the same with the Canucks where we can build around the older players with the Sedins.

I don't know man. Can't see that working out for us like it did for the sharks. Sedins won't be able to produce like they have been for much longer imo.

the sharks retooled... but also drafted well enough for it to work

brent burns coming into that team was the piece they needed. the guy is a beast

punkwax 04-22-2016 07:22 PM

Wouldn't give Burns all the credit with Pavelski, Couture, Hertl etc around but will agree that you need a beast dman if you want a good chance at the Cup.

RIP Luc Bourdon

but they draft well. Dont think Pavelski was a high end prospect. haha

but for the kings, seeing doughty do it all and having no results is rough

Jmac 04-22-2016 08:10 PM

The Sedins would be very effective if they weren't our only consistent source of offense.

Also, drafting is only half the battle. Development arguably is just as, if not even more, important.

murd0c 04-22-2016 08:17 PM

^ exactly, the reason why the Red Wings have been good year after year is due to the player development which is one of the best in the NHL

murd0c 04-22-2016 08:21 PM

WOW down 3 goals the Kings just came back to tie it up 3-3
