I still can't believe the factors that went into us getting 5th overall. Just imagine if we never won that Cali road trip and at least tied TO for worst in the league.

We can't even lose right.

EDIT: Although to be fair, Toronto fucked themselves out of lottery position or JUST missed/made the playoffs so many times, it's only realistic they finally got the tank right after a couple decades of trying.

I think that's what Kassian was thinking too.........

Apparently the Canucks had 5-6-10-13 and 5-6-12-13...... aka both 1 number off from the 1st overall pick.....

1st overall combination was 5-6-8-13

Tegra_Devil do you agree?

I assume it will be Nylander unless Tkachuk or god forbid Dubois drops to us, due to someone going for a defenseman early.

I'm content with any of those 3 listed

Nabatron 05-01-2016 11:11 PM

^this is whats going to happen canucks will pick dubois and he will end up a bust....flames will pick nylander and he will be a stud...canucks luck

Imagine all the dangles of Gaudreau and Nylander on a line together

Not Canucks related but it looks like the Giants are finally making the move from the Coliseum to the Langley Events Center.

Hell, with Canucks luck, they can draft Matthews and end up with Stefan luck instead.

I'm sure Benning knows who to pick, Boeser seems like a really good pick last year.

As much as I like Nylander, I think dubois will be Benning pick unless Edm takes him. We don't have anyone to replace Henrik down the road (unless we sign Stamkos lol). Horvat Sutter McCann imo, cannot replace Henrik on the first line.

Leafs finally sign Nikita 'Vassili' Zaitsev.

Crow is going to be the next Flames coach... He's a Burke guy and the team is perfect for his style of coaching.

Boudreau is being interviewed by Ottawa right now, so unless something bad happens, I think that's where he'll end up

Rumour is the Flams wanna go off the board with their next coach, a la Flyers and Hakstol

hopefully they don't poach Green, we need him for when Willie gets fired in November.

Burke loves to hire people that he knows or has worked with previously, I'd bet money that Crow will end up in Calgary.

Bouncing Bettys 05-03-2016 01:20 PM

C'mon Burke, bring Dallas Eakins back to the big show!

Philosophical differences led to Hartley's dismissal

Dave Poulin mentioned assistant coaches such as Kevin Dineen and Glen Gulutzan. He also touched on AHL coaches that are doing a great job down in the A (Green)

It won't be "real good" for the Canucks if we lose Green in Utica. lol. He did lots of good work there with our younger guys.

Ugh don't understand the Bob Hartley firing, the guy is one year removed from the Jack Adams, sure he had one bad year where the players can be blamed (especially goaltending) as much as the coach, but he held players accountable and I liked the guy :(

I'd trade Green for Hartley any day of the week.

Almost the same could be said for WD. Had a great first regular season, but his inexperience showed during the play offs. Second season is a tank, although WD had a lot of injuries to work around but people still call for his head. They both deserve one more chance. Seems like the Hartley firing was more of a direction issue then coaching.

According to dumb and dumber this morning, A) Hartley wasn't a Burke hire.
B) in the exit interviews, all the players supposedly said they didn't like Hartley and *MAY* have stopped playing for him
C) the team was built to play a puck possession game with D that were offensively gifted but instead Hartley's teams were always badly outshot.

But of course, this came from Dave Pratt's mouth so who knows how much of it is true.
