Haven't looked at it yet. I reached out to a mutual friend and may schedule a viewing soon.

tofu: DB8R in red? Did they make? I can't recall but thought that black, white and silver were the only offerings.

<-----will confirm with brochures at home.

It's taxed up but actually not that bad since its here already and some important things have been refreshed.

Anyone successfully get collector plates on their local Rs?

From what I read ICBC changed their policy on special editions. The Type R is considered the same as all Integra's so it does not qualify as low production.

Same goes for other cars. I looked into it for my 993 C4S and although the C4S had just under the production limit, the 95-98 911 (993) again are all considered the same.

We have to wait until our cars are 25 years old. That is unless they extend the time to 30 years or more like ICBC is hinting at. They did a survey recently to collect more data on what people want out of the collector program etc.

ICBC Collector Motor Vehicle Program Review Survey

OT: I have a strong want to have a MKIV Supra TT in the garage. It will have to RHD as LHD models are way out of my price range now.

I was going through an old phone that i'm using again and found this, not a great picture but I thought I would post it with all the DB8 talk in this thread. It was last summer in Maple Ridge. I liked it a lot and it appeared to be in nice shape.

I remember when I first lurked and eventually joined this forum I thought I was going to buy a LHD ITR around this time, but everyday they seem to get more expensive and further out of reach FeelsBadMan Even if I got my hands on one I wouldn't want to DD it and it would almost inevitably get stolen where I live

2000 Acura Integra Type R

Has a colorful history but fairly priced 00 ITR in Seattle

snake 01-22-2017 10:35 PM

What coilovers are ppl using on their ITRs?? Anybody with GC with Koni, where did you purchase it locally?

tofu1413 01-22-2017 10:48 PM

had a set on both my ITR's

Great budget set up. For street and light track duty, they're great. Kind of taught me what to do and what not to do with the suspension :lawl:

snake 01-23-2017 04:37 AM

Where did you get them? What's a better setup, with a high budget?

This reads like the type of car everyone tells you to avoid...

but because ITR none of the above applies :D

Koni yellows with CG is the best bang for the buck suspension setup.

That being said, what is your plans for the car?
I thought you were still planning on giving it to your son?

If you go with Koni's and GC's, what your plans on with the car will dictate what spring rates you get.
I can't remember what spring rates they recommend, but I would go with minimum 400 ft/lb springs.
Stock Koni yellow's can handle up to 600 ft/lb springs.

Eibach R2, KW V3, Spoon N1, and Tein Super Racing are all pretty high end. Mugen N1 or NZ (if you can find them). JRZ and Moton if you're darn near a professional driver.

The Koni/GC combo will serve it's purpose for a street driven vehicle that sees lapping days. You can always get stiffer springs as you progress and have the Koni's revalved to handle the stiffer springs if you go stiffer than what the off the shelf versions can handle.

Garage Five would be my first source but there are plenty of companies that can source these for you.

snake 01-23-2017 09:56 PM

Thanks for the info and advice. I contacted Ground Control direct, not sure if taxes/duty and shipping will kill the deal.
Kick myself for missing out on Tofu and Loong selling their old GC Koni!

Who here is going to ITR Expo this year?

thumper 01-24-2017 07:19 AM

are these toast, or is there any value left?

Acura Integra Type-R KW V3 - $1600 (vancouver) https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/van/pts/5907485944.html

USED KW V3 (P/N: 35250004) for 1994-2001 Acura Integra or 1992-1995 Honda Civic EG with ITR rear LCA (eye mount)

Comes complete with top hat, install ready

Springs abit rusty, you can purchase replacement via KW (Shipping is $16.50 to Blaine)

Front
Mark 5001
Rate 428 lbs/in
Part# 60210022
Price $88.99 each plus shipping

Rear
Mark 5002
Rate 188 lbs/in
Part# 60210023
Price $82.99 each plus shipping

With the cost of new springs (either KW or Swift), it's still $1,000 cheaper than a brand new set of KW V3 ($2,289.99 USD before shipping, exhcnage rate, tax ... etc)

I know the seller. Can PM me for more info.

188 lb/in springs in the rear is way too soft. So add in the cost of 350/400 lb/in springs for the rear.

The KW V3 for $1600 should've scrubbed it down, before taking pics. Looks like something I just threw out.

I'd love to go back but life, kids, job, etc always gets in the way. I do consider going each year though. Perhaps we'll chat closer to the date so I know what my schedule looks like.

The other thing, and I hate to be the one saying it, is that seeing how worn they look, I would also factor in about the $600-800 (might be $1000 with our shitty exchange rate) to ship and have them rebuilt.

Iron Chef 01-24-2017 08:25 PM

Attending expo is definitely on the bucket list but there always on the east coast and it would be hard to justify the road trip and track day on the other side of the country. Eibach honda meet with ITR section would be the next best thing and the road trip down the pacific coast highway would be worth it. The only crappy thing about Eibach is , its only a hard park fest. Best thing about Expo is being on track with the other ITR's, paying homage to its racing heritage.

I was picking a friend up from their house and noticed this parked near by, looked super nice and clean. Too bad my phone can't take a decent picture in the dark, or at all for that matter
