I did see a Tesla Plaid on I-5 yesterday decide he'd had enough of left lane hoggers and grab his yoke and press the battery pedal to the floor... that was quite a sight. It's one thing to see one of those take off in a video... but to already be going ~70mph and watch one take off in anger with your own eyes is quite another thing. Makes you believe in teleportation.

Are the newer crvs any good? Last time I read the was the oil issues in the 1.5l ones? I sat in my friends and the back seats were very roomy plus it felt pretty torquey for a CVT. No one talks about Honda's any more and some how everyone is all horny over hybrid Toyota's

headhunt3r 07-13-2022 11:52 AM

Nobody talked about the CRV cuz they never released a hybrid version in Canada, and the exterior design of the Rav4 in this latest gen was received really well.

i see a lot of these E scooters everywhere downtown. I think a lot of people are paying 400-600 bucks for one of these things and using it to commute instead of taking their cars/bikes. Makes sense if you live in like east van / Burnaby and you gotta go downtown. they can go 20-30kms

What is really wild are the motorized unicycles and riders with full face motorcycle helmet, speeding down roads, bike paths, whatever at like 50+ kph!

one person in the metrotown area wearing hot pink jump suit doing fantung or skip goes pretty damn quick down the sidewalk, i'm surprised they can go so quick without knocking someone over and carrying food still

Not Tesla fast but when I had my bike the adrenaline gets pumping when you can go from 0-100 kph in around 3 seconds, I sold it after owning it a bunch of years because it was no longer scary and way to easy to do stupid shit.

I can't imagine the Tesla Plaid, they are like 50% quicker than that rocket was.

Me too, I had a CBR954 back in the day and sold it for the exact reason that I knew I was eventually going to become a road crayon... there is nor margin for fuckups once you commit... and despite all the Plaid's array of safety features, physics always wins in the end, I feel like a car like that needs special training or a license of some sort lol

The person with the matching hot pink unicycle/clothes/helmet, blasting music? I saw them when I was down for work, they look like an irl anime character lol.

Then you got this guy who completely guts the car, upgrade the brakes, then forgets to change out the brake fluid :fulloffuck:

This thing is 400 bucks off today. Richmond Costco still has a few.
1300ish for a pretty good full suspension Ebike

i absolutely hate those jetson scooters... three times i've seen ppl riding them who had no business being on any sort of bike. i saw a girl on one riding it down lougheed making a uturn in front of other cars, people riding them on sidewalks almost hitting pedestrians, and same with at crosswalks.

people who don't look at bikes as recreational or as methods of transportation are riding these things around like toys with no regard for anyone else. it's almost like the whole pocket bike thing all over again except way slower

JDMDreams 07-29-2022 11:27 AM

Any good deals on e scooter I can't afford $1000 for a Bugatti

Someone posted this on Reddit earlier and I think it applies to shitty e-bike riders as well.

Installation wasn’t too bad. It just requires a ton of adjustment to make it fit my 6’2 frame. Skinny road tires are also kinda lame and brakes are lacklustre compared to my previous Ebike.

Motor is super torquey and the big battery is nice. I think it’s worth the money considering the last Ebike I returned to Costco was 2400 bucks and it didn’t even have any suspension.

EV rebates based on income now. https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2022EMLI0049-001204

Government be like, people making 80k a year please go drop 40-55k on an EV

EvoFire 08-02-2022 02:57 PM

So most ppl who can afford an EV are not going to get a rebate. Kind of lame.

Boy, I'm sure glad immigrant "homemakers" and "students" in the wealthiest neighborhoods can take full advantage of EV rebates, while tax paying professionals will get NOTHING.

lol.... fudge hahaha, its fine, its Vancouver...

Went to my daughter classmate's bday party, all the parents said they never see me, I am like yea... cuz I have a full time job that is pretty much the same as the school session times lol...

In the end, out of like a 26 kids class (mainly asian fob dominant), my wife told me only me and one other family works from her observation.

Everyones is talking real estate investment and scheduling golf/snookers after dropping off kids, and i am just there nodding like I knew what was going on

Then the big reveal, We are getting like the least child benefit payments because I work and pay taxes LOL... while everyone else is "poor" because they are low income in their 80K cars...

Vancouver yap...

/end rant

The shittiest thing is how some of them brag about beating the system while rolling around in their Lambo / RR SUVs.
