Yes sorry that's what I meant.

The Solterra might be a hard sell in BC and Quebec if it doesn't have a stripped model like the BZ4X

EDIT: In regards to the Provincial and Federal EV rebates

jaaagman 04-17-2022 09:08 PM

Does anyone have any idea what the wait time for a bz4x is now?

whitev70r 04-18-2022 10:19 AM

a bazillion years.

Any Model 3 Standard Range owners here getting ridiculously low range?

2019 Model 3 Standard Range with aftermarket 18s

Started the day 90%, made a small errand.

Then drove to Chilliwack, back to Mitchell Island, and then East Van

Ended with 15%, total of 200km driven on that day.

Autopilot on set at 105km consistently. Climate Control set at 22 degrees

JDMDreams 04-19-2022 06:57 AM

Not really, the temps have been slightly higher lately so the cats been more efficient and charges faster too

The climate control is what's killing your range. If you were to drive with that off you'd probably see at least an extra 30% of range.

Just wanted to give an update on my 18 Leaf.
The other night, was driving down the road and the motor cuts out and I get a warning chime and an error message that there is something wrong with the electrical system and that I need to pull over.
Changed out the 12v battery thinking that was the culprit and was able to drive home.
Next morning, I get in and start heading to work and just as I enter the onramp to the highway, the car cuts out again and this time I have the car towed to Nissan.

It's been 3 days and they have no idea what the issue is. The person on the service desk gave a very generic response that the tech is working on it, and have reached out to the engineers at Nissan Canada for assistance.
It may or may not be covered by warranty as they are still trying to figure out what the problem is.

Will be interesting to see what is broken with the car.

Traum 04-29-2022 03:41 PM

Damn that sucks, SumAznGuy.

How many kms on the Leaf so far?

But look on the bright side -- at least this will give you a chance to drive one of your 6 race cars, right?

Down to 1 shitvic right now since moving to Pitt.
My track bike is insured but not sure if I should ride on DOT slicks.

Leaf is at 98K km's so still under warranty. From what I experienced and reading online, I think it might be a charging issues with the 12v battery but so far Nissan is stumped. Since it is under warranty, I'm not going to try to "fix it".

JDMDreams 04-29-2022 09:13 PM

I'm surprised Nissan can't figure it out considering it isn't really a new car and EVs are relatively simple compared to gas, battery, power control, motor :lawl:

GLOW 04-30-2022 12:30 PM

i feel like newer vehicles that focus a lot on tech has a lot of plug and play modular components where if something isn't working, you pretty much need a specialized engineer/technician to evaluate if not something straight forward

so when i hear a generic response, translation: no f'ing clue, need to ask nissan canada to get their engineers to sort it out or tell us what entire module to replace /shrug

my guess anyway, i'm not mechanically inclined or anything

68style 04-30-2022 02:29 PM

I think with the lack of any real moving parts in the drivetrain, on electrics it’s always going to come down to a wiring or software issue… and neither of those are easy to solve.

Plus a vehicle that suddenly loses power is a massive legal liability to give back to the customer, so they aren’t going to give it back until they know for sure it’s not a million+ lawsuit in the making.

Forbidden fruit over seas

Mazda CX 60 PHEV

Looks way better than the Toyota RAV4 Prime in my opinion

Well, the North American version (CX-70) should be announced this year and it'll be mostly just a wider version of this. I don't really get why Mazda went with two widths when this one is already 74" wide. If they needed it to work in skinny markets why not go down to 70-72" and have the NA model by 76"?

Looks pretty dope - I figure pricing will be very similar to the RDX (starting at 47k)

The idea of that I6 hybrid is pretty juicy. Even moreso if the I6 is the "base" option at that price point. I like the Venza considering that it's a JDM Harrier with the steering on the left, but the 4 cylinder hybrid is kind of middling having driven one before.

people has been saying the earlier model climate control should set to 20 deg and adjust the fan speed accordingly. that's the most efficient temperature after a lot of testing.

I have a P base with 245/275 tires, can achieve 120kwh/hr (whatever unit it displays on the screen) on highway, 130 with A/C.

SumAznGuy 05-03-2022 02:43 PM

Nissan called. Turns out the traction motor or something drivetrain related is broken.
And no one in Canada has the part.

Need to overnight it from Japan. Put it on my tab at Harry's.
