You can talk to people about how Tesla shares paid for the car, meanwhile how's Ferrari and VW stock doing? Quote:

starting 43,430 and 46,030 gets you ventilated seats and 360 camera I believe. Top spec is cheaper than a base leaf with more features but no CarPlay/AA and less range.

the fuck kinda story will i have when i plug in a bitch ass ev? | It's even better because then it's survival stories being traded by PTSD'd out EV owners anxious that the last couple chargers have been broken and they cruised into this charging station on their last lithium fumes.
Good times
At least it's opt-in: think of all the times you don't want to interact with weirdos at gas stations but they walk up to you whether you like it or not. With an EV you can just plug in at home once at week overnight and you're good. No interacting with anyone unless you want to!

But I wanna slap some RPF1 or PF01 on the car, and I like this new Bolt!
And there is a local guy autox-ing his 1st gen Bolt too! Too bad I forgot what wheels he is running.
Bolt owners need some aftermarket love too, just like the Tesla boys.

Why do manufacturers keep inventing new bolt patterns anyways? There's zero reason for it.

But nooooo~ they all had to do their own sizes...

Even within the same manufacturer they have different bolt patterns. At one point Toyota had 4x100 & 5x100 on some cars and 5x114.3 on others that were all being sold at the same time. It makes zero sense.

Even within the same manufacturer, it makes sense to have different bolt patterns because vehicles are of different sizes. As I understand it, the bigger / heavier the vehicle, the larger number of bolts and the further the distance away from the center of the wheel would be needed.
What really doesn't make sense is the lack of standardization. Why does Fiat fxxking need to use their stupid a$$ 4x98 bolt pattern when they could easily have gone with the far more common 4x100?! Why does Chevy need to use 5x105 when Toyota uses 5x100, and Volvo / Ford uses 5x108? Are those 3 or 5 mm difference really that super important that they can't go with a common pattern?
It's like cell phones -- when phone manufacturers all started moving to micro USB, it was a god-send! And now the standardization towards USB-C is even better.

But the Toyotas I was talking about are the Celica/Camry having 5x100 and the MR2/Supra/etc being 5x114.3 in the same model year.

Fiat switching off 4x98 probably has 1B+ in downstream cost: engineering, tooling, bearing/axle suppliers, etc. all of Italy is doing 4x98. Next one is 5x110.
Bolt sends huge torque/vertical loads thru a tiny subcompact platform. 5x100 probably won’t do, they’re Metric so the next GM pattern is 5x110/115.
Ford doing 5x108 is cuz Focus is EU engineered - they’ve been using that one in UK since the 70s. They could do 5x114.3 but that’s imperial.

People who have never had a car with 5x108 be suggesting Ferrari wheels ... as if Ferrari used wheels are common or affordable ... or that they even look good (they don't).
