The business of building good cars, like good airplanes (Not you 737-Max, not you DC-10/MD-11), is super expensive and a lot of these EV startups are finding out how expensive it is so it's no surprise that someone like Lucid is dropping the ball on things.

Well so much for buying the gravity then. If the can’t even get the air right how long will I have to wait for them to fix the gravity and all its issues

So on the video, I believe the heated seats on the rear come on based on temperature and occupancy. When we test drove the Gravity the heated seat came on automatically. He probably has automatic on and doesn't know.
Other stuff like the carplay flipping on issue is common on BMW as well. You turn the car on and it picks up whatever it picks up. The other stuff like not connecting also happens on iDrive 8 and up, our X5 occasionally goes nuts and needs a soft reset to clear it's buffers or stack or something. That's why I have said the latest iterations of iDrive has gone backwards. Seems to be a common issue across multiple brands.
I've also had the music cut out on the X3 and X5, and I've heard of it happening on other brands. One time I had only tweeters and no mid and lower speakers on it was trippy.
But yeah I'd avoid the Gravity, it's a wait until year 3 or 4 kind of car. Tesla took a long time to work out it's kinks, same with Rivian. VW is trying to figure out it's shit with their ID line.
Since you guys hate plastic so much in cars (especially Toyota!) have you guys heard of Dacora Motors? Apparently, there is no plastic in the interior of their cars.
This is quite interesting. So its basically an EV but Nissan added an ICE to charge the battery. Thus removing the range issue and complexity of PHEV. Probably the first revolutionary thing nissan has done since the OG nissan leaf.

Revolutionary? Fisker did it years ago... and the Porsche mag that started arriving at my house for some reason tells me that they tried the same thing 125 years ago. Mazda also put something out a few years ago that does this. (Also, that's the plan with the new Wankel if they ever do it)
I have a friend that does consulting on hybrid and electric vehicles. He took me through a presentation once that he gave a certain Chinese car company a few years ago. There is no scenario where it's better from an efficiency point of view to have an engine charge a battery than drive the wheels.
I could imagine it's cheaper to develop and maintain but it's a worse product for the consumer.

I think he was knocking Nissan specifically because they simply haven't been innovative at all (depending on which side of the fence you stand on, I guess.)
Is the magazine Christophorus or the PCA one? Likely your dealer subscribed you or got you a complimentary membership.
Volt and Honda ended with the same conclusion - once you're on US highway speed (130kmh+) you need direct engine to wheel connection.

The weakness of a series hybrid is when you’re on a highway at 75 mph—then an electric motor is not at its most efficient, but an internal combustion engine is. Pandikuthira said the Rogue package has been specifically tuned for the U.S. market. Where Qashqai “is set up for dense traffic conditions,” the Rogue package will be better tuned for the sort of highway driving Americans are used to.
Nissan publicly said their current ePower is weak on hills and sustained power - in EU uses 160HP 3 cyl 1.5T variable compression motor and in Latin America it uses 150HP NA engine.
Even UK people driving on flat highway said the sustained power derates to like 70-90HP.

Ike Gauntlet is 13km, 700m gain, 7% grade.
The TFL guys might need to start doing this for hybrids and PHEVs.
This test is the about the same as Cypress Mountain from Highway 1 but at 100kmh.
Some numbers:
Time wise:
- RAV4 Hybrid/XTrail eHybrid batteries (~2kWh) would deplete in 1-2 minutes.
- RAV4 PHEV battery is large enough to complete the climt
Power wise:
- RAV4 and XTrail hybrid engines are just powerful enough to hold 100kmh. 100WHP is required, meaning 160 HP from N/A engine at elevation.
- Adding any aero drag like a roof box or any speed means the car will lose speed: 120WHP or 200HP N/A is required at 120kmh.
This isn't the Silverado/Sierra/Escalade that beat every other EV in basically every way, it's the shitty Blazer.
It doesn't even have active lane keep assist.
Wait I just remembered Genesis makes full evs now, I just saw one pop up on FB g80 gv80? How come no one talks about them and I never see them on the streets.
GV70 is reasonable, but Genesis dealer is so terrible and the leases so much more expensive than other EV SUV that no one bought them.
No one bought G80 except for Avis, price was way too high and their trunks space was horrible.
Most US people are going to drive these in a way that requires a charge midtrip and the Hyundai/Kia/Genesis nav with charging planning is like.... windows 95 compared tesla.
low key I like the new X3 but I think the iX3 is INCREDIBLY ugly
Only the 50 model, the grille on the base model looks weird with the diagonal slats.
