Irrelevent to the thread but just a friendly advice, la casa gelato is fucking disgusting as shit. Don't end your awesome date with shitty ice cream, if you can call it that. Go to Bella Gelataria or Soft Peaks or Uyu or some shit.

Unless his date is a total health freak and worries about the adverse effects from food, I doubt they'd rather have shitty, watery ice cream than decent soft serve and whatever the fuck is in it on a date. But then again there are people who love things like powdered bubble tea and ayce sushi so maybe it doesn't matter to his date and I'm over thinking this . I just wanted to throw suggestions for Stewie, that's all

To clarify, technically speaking bubble tea is a powdered or syrup drink

Please don't get me wrong. I'm not hating on you giving suggestions, but to say la casa gelato is disgusting as shit but suggesting soft peaks and uyu which aren't that great either is alittle contradicting. maybe suggest rain or shine, or ernest

No worries, I know it was just a suggestion, but we're both the furthest thing away from a foodie as can be. I actually wouldn't even want to date a foodie because like bcrdukes said, they nit pick every thing and turn a simple dinner date into a hells kitchen episode. I get it, they like food, so do I, but please for the love of god don't talk about the food on the date or after saying how they've tasted better...I'll just end up looking at them, smile and laugh and say so have I...and then walk away from them. If the girl is willing to(and possibly even suggests) crush back a big mac and large fries prior to seeing a movie or something, then shit will work out just fine hahaha

Edit
Now that it's supposed to be a bit wet out, ice cream may not be the best idea lol. I don't venture into south Vancouver often...anything relaxing to do?

Why not just go for dessert? Go for cheesecake etc?

Coming from a female perspective who has online dated - honestly, something that is super underrated but is super attractive thing (for females that aren't high maintenance or gold diggers), is effort. A planned effort from the guy.

It's not to say all the time, but... something regularly memorable (or note-worthy) for me was when BF messages and says "So I'm picking you up at this time, and then we're going to go do this and that, so that we get a chance to sit down and talk and enjoy each other's company. How's that sound?"

Well bomb-diggity. That sounds rad. Thanks for thinking of me, and thinking about what you wanna do with me, it gives me something to look forward to.

it seems like everybody is forgetting about one thing. Naturally having a good time.

regardless on where you bring him/her or how you get them there, if you guys click, its worth your time. also, If he or she has the time to judge you on where you brought them, then you have something else on your hands.

i brought a girl ( which is now my gf ) to timmy's and now we look back and laugh about it,. not about the place, but the fact that i wore the tightest fucken shirt ever.

Chemistry, can you see it between you too?

^ This.

Here are two different ways of thinking about it. Again, online dating is a numbers game.. the more you talk to, the better idea you get.

We'll use my first date as a benchmark with my boyfriend.

Cost wise: $15 max for food, gas.
If I was a shallow and high maintenance girl, then yeah - that doesn't sound super appealing.

Effort: Picked me up, took me to japadog, took me to stanley park, went for a cruise
Knowing that I had this to look forward to in the week and this dude planned out things that he thought I would enjoy and opportunities for us to just talk and get to know each other. He even made a balloon saying 'you aite' (cause it was around valentines day).

Rad. It wasn't crazy expensive. But it was unique.

My best advice when it comes to GENERAL dating in 2016 for men? after a long week of work, it's nice to know you have something to look forward to at the end of the week, whether it's simple or big. Don't wait to tell a girl about plans until the day of. It's pretty cool to know someone's thinking about you.

My best advice for men for ONLINE dating in 2016? You want to make an impression? Show your family values, show how engaging you can be, go the old-school route. Girls are now going to be used to guys doing disappearing act (or ghosting), FWB, fuck buddies, guys who are overall not-so-bueno.

You diggin' a girl for the long haul? Go the old-school way. Impressionable. Try to be someone important to her. Try to be her best friend. Again, do it old school and get that chemistry and keep your wee wee in your pants for as long as you can.

it's not the platform, it's the users. there is a lot of overlap between okcupid and pof (at least locally).

anyone have any recent updates? i have been too busy to go fishing!
