I noticed that too. It's pretty annoying when you're just quietly watching the game and all of a sudden commerical are basically screaming at you.

interesting about the CRTC violation...i wonder if people have complained.
Hopefully this is just for that one game.

Ever try and watch a show with the volume as low as possible, where the dialogue is just audible? Then an explosion occurs in the show and the volume suddenly seems way too loud. That is what is happening with loud commercials. They are supposed to be sticking to the volume of the show, yet they set the loudness to that of the loudest point in the show and keep it at that for the entirety of the commercial. At least that is how I understand it. They aren't allowed to exceed the show's broadcast volume.

I have filed a complaint to CRTC. All they did was forward the complaint to Rogers and Rogers essentially said although they can't control the volume of the commercials, they feel the variation is within tolerance...

i've really been liking the number of games with higher scoring so far this season
its been a while since we've had a bunch of 7 goal games in a row, great to see some teams just gun for it
that Jets/Toronto game was pretty exciting and its how you sell the game
hopefully it doesn't tighten up as the season goes on
whatever happened to making goalie pants smaller? wasn't that in the works?

The goalie pants thing was delayed because not enough manufacturers were ready.
Scoring usually tightens up as the season goes on.
