For the sake of clarification, my post was in jest, and not meant to be taken seriously.

I received some death threats from a few members with accusations of me being a far-right racist and Trump supporter. By no means, I am either.

For real? That was such a benign joke

Now it's JUST BLACK. Well, ok then, it's not even very black anymore. Now that they get rid of the 3.5mm jack as well, might as well not even have named colours anymore.

Honestly regardless of name most people will still just call it white, black, and blue.

Or like how Apple has Space Grey but it’s always a different shade every year.

Ordered the 2XL 64gb to compliment my Note 8 lol.

lol not even one week in, widespread reports of display burn-in

https://www.androidcentral.com/googl...xl-screen-burn

just checked my 7mo old XL...sure enough I see residuals from the soft keys

I really thought OLED has shaked this off...apparently not and still affected in TVs. Will have to baby my oled monitor even more. (super anal about not keeping things static on it)

I got a chance to play with the smaller Pixel 2 at best buy and I would find it really hard to pay $900 for this phone when the S8 next to it pretty much blows it away in every aspect. I like stock Android but Google really needs to give their head a shake if they think this phone is worth $900.

TypeRNammer 10-28-2017 08:13 PM

Are you guys aware of any sale of the first generation Pixel XL? Looking to replace my wife's phone.

twitchyzero 12-07-2017 06:25 AM

any performance issues/bugs?

BIC_BAWS 12-07-2017 09:34 PM

No bugs yet. I'm still not a fan of the home screen design change. Battery life seems to be A LOT better though.

zetazeta 12-08-2017 09:58 AM

Battery life has been insane on my P2XL. I use 20% from 8am to 5pm and that includes over an hour of reddit/ig/yt/etc... while i'm on the bus.

On the first day I go the phone, I used it from 100% to 22% battery and it gave me over 6hrs of SoT.

twitchyzero 12-08-2017 10:29 AM

yeah I've gotten used to SoT 6-7 hours on the og XL and the Sony Z5P
switching to the iphone with a measely 2700maH battery was noticeable

Nabatron 12-08-2017 10:32 AM

android needs to fix their OS updates for fuck sakes! Almost year 2018 and still cant get the latest android update on the phones unless u go with a pixel or nexus device.

Traum 12-08-2017 10:37 AM

^^ Is that Android / Google's problem though? Always thought it was manufacturers that determine the level of post-sales support you get on updates and stuff.

Manufacturers and in some cases, carriers. My Nexus 5 was dependent on Virgin Mobile to issue updates.

BIC_BAWS 12-08-2017 11:29 PM

Found the first bug. Waze keeps crashing.

Nabatron 12-09-2017 08:52 AM

wondering why apple gets some special deal with carriers and google doesn't? Someone educate me on this...

BIC_BAWS 12-09-2017 09:47 AM

I don't actually know, but i think cause it's apple. All ios phones are sold/distributed by Apple. Granted a lot of things pay some sort of loyalty to Apple. For example, all non-cheap china shit cables have to pay Apple a loyalty.

Apple domination?

If you go to a store, how many manufacturers are selling Android devices? And Apple?

Is the manuafctures and the carries as well. Once say Android have an update/firmware update which then gets pass onto the phone manfactures. They then add their own custom UI/features/apps/etc etc. Once the manfactures did that then they issue the update to their phones. Now if your phone is purchase through a carrier then the carrier receive the updates and they then add their own shit to it. Once they did that then the update is release to your phone. If you purchase your phone from manfacture or online (IE 1+5 FOR example where the phone gets sent to do directly)You get a OTA update. Since so many people are got their hands in it that's why it could take months or never for updates to arrive for the phones you purchase off your carrier.

Apple does it a bit differently. They control all their updates so they don't have to go through different manfactures/carriers.
