Why/How are you comparing a Accord LX to a Civic Hatch. One is made for clais and the other is made for fun lol and yes its better than a Corolla hands down. A base WRX is 36k after tax and everything. |
A new civic hatch made for fun? Its literally the most practicality based car that has ever existed in history. |
it starts to grow onto you when you see it everyday... BibleThump |
Nothing wrong with it by any means. They are rad, but I think its just the wrong way to put it saying they were built for fun. |
^ what I meant was fun as in driving pleasure fun, not "made for fun" as in shits and gigs. |
Uh. Yeah that's how we took it lol |
I still don't think it's 10k better than my plebian appliance of excellence. It's still front wheel drive and with only 180hp it ain't going to set performance benchmarks. I don't know , it just doesn't seem worthwhile when you get close to WRX money or mustang base v6. My buddy got a WRX base for 31k including taxes at Richmond Subaru. It's a very very quick car compared to this Civic at 30k I don't mean to rant on your purchase. I'm just surprised at how much this thing costs. I like the hatch and the blue color but at 30k I can think of a lot better cars. |

You're comparing a car nobody buys that was purchased at a deep discount (base WRX should be nearly $36,000 taxes in at MSRP) to a brand new to market car in high demand with no discount possible. Nevermind the fact 5-7 years down the road the Civic will sell for ~50% more than the WRX does. Mustang V6 will be even worse. If he doesn't care that much about straight line acceleration, he made the correct choice by far. |

Tell me why again this is a good buy ? |
So just a disclaimer - just stating the facts here before this debacle gets outta hand. Both are good cars in their own right and the 10k difference can only be justified by the individual making the purchase. As for resale values; a quick search of 2013/2012 civics show them being priced at an average of 14k for the EX-L model (Msrp of 27500 after tax - I did not include freight or any discounts. Strictly Msrp + tax) which means the Honda civic retains 50.9% of its value over the course of 5 years. The 2012/2013 wrx I only found 2 and averaged the price to about 27k after 5 years. Msrp was 40k after tax which means it retained 67.5% of its value. SO - the wrx holds its value more. Usually the wrx/sti doesn't get discounted till it's their mid cycle refresh and they are cars with high demand amongst the tuner crowd. Can we get back to pics of whips :concentrate: |
Time for some happy thoughts. The 5er kissing my 3er. All tucked in for the snow tonight... https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...98f603abdb.jpg All you need is love! ❤️ |

Let's see some figures to back up your "spanking" terminology. I don't buy it, the stock WRX is nothing special and these ones will not hold their value as well as the previous hatch/sedan generations because they're ugly as fuck... personal opinion but definitely not alone on that one. I'm not even a fan of the Civic, but you're talking out of your ass. Maybe he cares about gas mileage too? Civic does 6.2L on the highway compared to 8.2L in the WRX. Reliability? Boxer engines are super fun to work on... not. Who knows with the Civic engine, it's brand new. There's a lot of factors to car ownership. But I guess you're smarter than Honda is, clearly they have no idea what they're doing with their pricing and no one will buy the Civic right? Carry on. |
The only other person I've seen defend their Corolla this hard is bcrdukes. ... And even then he ain't this rustled over what some random guy bought for themselves :lol |

Mang, if Van City life wasn't so pricey, this project would have been done ages ago. |

Well I'm done here. My 2 cents; You can do better with 30k than the Civic. Feel free to disagree. |
