Friendly reminder to everyone:
Don't forget to drink your 2L+ of water today.
New year, new you.
Job stressing you out? Weather got you feeling dry? Girlfriend being annoying? Feeling those extra holiday pounds from feasting with the fam?
Drink water. Add some sliced lemon and cucumber to show others you are fancy as well as well hydrated.

Moved into a new student condo and all the roommates are chill and clean so far. Bonus points for the guy who's taken on the anxious roommate role and setup the meetings to chat about cleaning :fuckyeah:

Applied for some jobs this AM via Indeed. I got a call back right away. Talked to the lady for a small prescreen and she told me her and another colleague are sifting thru resumes and will contact the strongest people by the end of the day so for me not to wait by the phone. They ended up calling me 3 more times throughout the day lol. No vm. Like darn you said not to wait by the phone so I went to sleep lol. Ah well, I'll call them tmro lol.
It's nice to have a callbacks. I'm kind of embarrassed to go to an interview because I've lost my left eyebrow during a recent flare up

But fuck it. People can be beautiful without eyebrows too right?

Found out today that according to X rays that chemo/radiation worked and they can't see any more cancer. Have another test to go for in a month and then he will be monitored for a year to make sure it hasn't come back.

Damn, I finally got around to fixing my front gate issue. Builder of the house installed a really stupid system. It is very hard to open and close. The mail carrier, god bless her soul, tries to but fails to close the gate properly. The gate then is at the mercy of the winds.

I finally came up with a better solution. Magnets. I installed a pair of very strong magnets and used galvanized steel plate that I attached to the gate itself. The magnets were glued onto a piece of aluminum with JB Weld. It works like a charm. I'm so proud of myself, gulolol. It's the little things in life that make me giddy.

I wanted to use electromagnets, just for shits and giggles, but too much work. Then I could electrify it when those bible thumpers show up, gulolol.

EDIT: Sorry, forgot this is a "feel good," thread. Electrocuting agents of god is not "feel good." At least not for them, hee hee, hue hue, pew pew.

god bless...............

So I finally got well enough to start training again!
I have a problem with staying motivated just from my illness yo-yoing and I tried mixing it up before, had periods where I hated cardio and favored weight training.

During my last 2 month hiatus, I started thinking a lot about how I used to run track and won medals before my womanly parts grew in and stopped me lol. I made a decision to just go for it and start with incline training! I started off with 40 mins cardio and weight training with the hubs for the remaining 2.25 ish hours we're at the gym. We usually gym for 3 hours together.

On Monday, I got down 6380 steps in 42 mins and my fastest speed was 5.5mph on 5% incline. Tonight I smashed 8012 steps in 43 mins, fastest speed 5.9mph at 5% incline. I'm soooooooo happy with this!!!!!

I put Bengay on my knees after training and I take a day inbetween to give my joints time to rest so I don't shred them up too much.

Just wanted to share my happiness with my results since I think I'm being annoying on my IG stories since I reactivated haha!

Waited for over a year to get my Colonoscopy. You're supposed to get one done at age 40. Well, I kept putting it off (over two decades). By accident, I let it out to my doctor that my father had colon cancer when he was 70ish. Yeah, that sent up flares and the doctor put a referral in for a colonoscopy. Now that the genie was out of the bottle, I had no choice. So, I agreed to the procedure. Since one member of the family had it, most likely you would, too. Kind of hereditary. Anyway, this was last year. Today was my appointment. I was not looking forward to it. My wife had stage four colon cancer and she died from it, so I was not looking forward to the bad news.

Anyway, they only found four polyps and they were not cancerous. A real relief. I'm good for another 3 to 5 years.

I got to see the whole procedure in full colour (technology, eh?). Damn, my innards were so smooth, clean, and pink. The doctor was very good and put me at ease. Her caring voice reassured me everything was going to be okay. I asked her for a cigarette afterwards. She immediately told me, "No smoking in the hospital." I guess the joke went ten feet over her head. The entire ward did break out in laughter when I broke out with, "You can Keep Your Hat On," by Joe Cocker, when the nurse said, "Everything off except your socks!" Hee hee............. There was a semi-hot nurse there and I was hoping she would stroke the stanchion and do a dance, but nope. I think she was too young to know what it all meant. The orderly's and nurses in that ward were very laid back and funny. Good Vibes, indeed.

So, if any of you are contemplating getting one done, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. Not eating for nearly two days and drinking this thing called, "Pico Salex," was not fun at all. That's was the only "shitty part"....................

My dishwasher broke down, as in the start stop button was stuck and couldn't be pressed. I looked up the model number and did a google search. I found the right one and watched it. Somewhere in the video, dude says the part needed is going to cost about two hundred bucks. I was like WTF?

I ended up calling the manufacturer and they in turn referred me to other places. After calling four different places, I got a hold of the distributor for the parts. BTW, Reliable Parts couldn't get the parts. Dumb Euro companies that want to control everything. Anyway, the part is about 15 bucks. Yay! One problem. The part is on back order for four, maybe five weeks!

I thought to my self, I can probably repair the damn thing. I took everything apart, took pics, and saw what the problem was. Clear plastic cover that goes over the control unit has four button depressing things (for lack of better words, gulolol). One of them was snapped off. I took some Lock-Tite plastic glue and let it dry. Damn, it worked. I even put everything back without any screws left........... unlike the official RS Holy Grill. Flip?

Anyway, I'm so happy.

Phew.......... finally finished the last load of pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery that has been accumulating over the last few days. I don't know how the wife did it. Weeding in the garden, cleaning up around the house, vacuuming, cooking the meals, looking after her mom and the three kids, etc. I can barely do half those things. Wife told me before she left that it's okay to hire a person to come clean the bathrooms in the house. I can't bring myself to pay someone to do something I can do. Maybe I'll hire ZN6 to come clean the bathrooms in the house, lol. I'm gonna have to stop going to the casinos and start cleaning up around the house and yard. The place looks like a disaster zone.

Maybe hold a RS mini meat........... uh, on second thought, I would have to feed them, which means more cleaning up. Hee hee, hue hue, pew pew.

I guess I can ask the kids to help out, but they have lives of their own and jobs. I'm retired with nothing to do, except watch reruns of Matlock, 'cause according to an RS member, that's all we seniors do.

MSREE, thanks for this awesome thread. I get to hang out my................ oh shit, I left the laundry soaking in the washer for over a day. Laundry......... I hate laundry.

Was able to get comp'd for the Tom Green show today, my first comedy show after working for the club for 2 years!
My hubs was excited since he's a big fan. My coworker told us to hang out in the comic section for a bit before grabbing drinks and we were able to meet Tom and take a few pics, hubs was over the moon haha.
The show was awesome for my first one and I'm hoping that we're going to make it more of a habit to check out the comedy scene in town since I'm better

I was already walking and arrived at the station after work one afternoon and I realize I dropped my compass. I then walked back to work and thought maybe I just left it there. Couldnt find it, I was already stressed because of work. Then this one girl who works for transit gave me her compass with 13$ in it and I was just shocked by the generosity from this person. She made me felt so happy.

Now I just gotta spread her kindness outward.

I’m at the McDonald’s on Byrne Road. I ordered a fillet o fish with the survey coupon, which gets me a free medium fries and drink with a purchase of a large sandwich. Like last week, the girl at the till tells me it’s free. I was like, “Fuck yeah.” Anyway, I go to fill my drink cup when I remembered what my daughter said to me when I told my her about how I got a meal for free at the Port Kells location last week (same circumstance). She told me, “Someone could get into trouble over this and it’s not like you're a struggling student." She was right, of course. Anyway, she said this to me without being judgemental or in a condescending way. I was pretty proud of her - kind of reminded me of what my wife would have said. So, I went back to the till to tell the gal I should have paid for the sandwich. As it turns out, one of the managers was looking at the coupon.

I paid for the sandwich and put a five dollar bill in the charity box to fix last time’s incident. It was one of those, “WTF were you thinking?” moments. It’s not that I did the right thing, but more about my daughter looking after the old man.

In the end none this would have made a difference or moved mountains............ I feel much better about myself and that means a lot. My wife did a bang up job raising the kids.

I love my garden. I just made some wonton soup. Used green onions from the garden. I tell ya, nothing like fresh veggies from the garden. You know it is as organic as it gets. Did I mention fresh? The flavour is amazing. Soup stock made from scratch, but the secret ingredient is the sliced up chikuwa (fish cake). I wish I had some noodles on hand. Maybe drop an egg or two into the soup. Medium to soft boil.

Oh, that's what I can make in a few days.......... sukiyaki, so I can have raw egg dip. I miss it so muchee.
