You don't *have* to push it to the limit, I imagine even a slightly spirited run around the ring in a car like that would be a blast. Even if I had to drive like an old lady I wouldn't skip an opportunity like that.

By the time you get delivery, the lot boys have already broken in your engine. The crosshatch pattern on the cylinder walls have MAYBE 100km to seal to the new piston rings

Forget the lot boys. The longshoremen who drives your car on and off the roro's have "thoroughly" tested your car for you as they have for all of us.

We are talking startup, clutch drop and instant redline within 10 seconds. Warm up ? Hahahahaha sure buddy.

Thanks guys.

My entire trip was planned specifically to do ED, drive on the autobahn (V-max), ride the green hell and roadtrip in Europe with my wife and 4 year old boy for two weeks. There was no way in hell I was going to respect break-in procedures. That shit goes right out the window when there's no speed limit, I promise you.

The CAR Gods give you a pure virgin with 3 kms on the ODO and you pamper it for the next guy in line? Fuck no, you downright fuck the shit out of it and have her beg for more.

LOL sorry, I'm just a bit amped up thinking about where she is now and how long I have to wait for her to get back.

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Well then. And that’s that.

tofu1413 09-07-2018 12:08 AM

its a nice daily rig! drives surprisingly nice and of course more liveable than the GTR, since i have to drive some old folks around now and then.

hud 91gt 09-07-2018 08:32 AM

...so daredevil, why don’t you just open um a Yamaha or polaris dealership in your garage? Lol so many toys.

Badhobz 09-07-2018 09:04 AM

tofu1413 09-07-2018 10:10 AM

you are exactly right !! My friend unloads them from the ships and they have a stretch of road where they make sure the cars run "right " lol

higher senority guys call dibs on faster cars :)

68style 09-07-2018 10:48 AM

Haha I'd like to think you'd get tired of neutral bombing/clutch dumping Mazda2's after the first 5 times and not that many cars actually get abused... but, then again, I might be giving too much credit to the type of guy who works at the docks parking cars all day long every day.

Harvey Specter 09-07-2018 10:49 AM

Not sure if this is the case with some domestic sport cars but with exotics the factory programs the ECU to cap the max speed and RPMs to prevent any abuse during transport. The car needs to be flashed during PDI to unlock the transport settings.

Sometimes they tell them, unload this ship and we're done for the day. Thats when everyone picks up the pace and just floors every single car, sports car or not. No Mercy ! I remember him telling me that some cars did have some sort of protection where you couldnt go past 3000rpm

They do this with base model VWs as well LOL, according to a friend that worked at VW.

Cause my car hasn’t seen the light of day since I moved. Ironic as now I have the space.
