No particular ethnicity should be expected to hold themselves to a higher standard than any other.

If someone does this or any other shitty crime, they are a disgrace to humanity, not whatever skin colour they are

I've never been sued so I'd have no knowledge on this subject but I just assume that if someone were to pull a scam like this then the driver would try to get footage of it for their own records to show in court. Once a judge sees it all his credibility will probably be shot down in future attempts to pull this scam. Counter sue him for the dent he left in my vehicle :p

I don't think these people intend to take it that far (court). They just want quick cash settlement right there and then.

Me......... "Are you okay? Here, let me help you up......... oops.......... I just tripped. Did my fist hit your eye? Oops, there I go again. I'm so clumsy. I just fell on you with my elbow in your face." Accidents happen.

These people are probably known to police. The last thing they want is the police to be called.

China, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, India... the list goes on where insurance scams are rampant.

Which is why said countries have a lot of dash cams. One of the reasons why Ontario has high auto insurance rates for young/inexperienced drivers too.

Shitty things happen where shitty people live. It's not limited to anywhere. Assholes, like our ass holes, are everywhere right behind us.

twitchyzero 02-06-2018 12:39 PM

i meant someone literally forcing themselves onto your car or sticking a foot out under your tire to pretend they got hurt

this is time first time i have heard of such things in Vancouver or North America, not saying it's never happened but usually the the dash cam footages of this offense I see online are from developing countries

Badhobz 02-06-2018 06:25 PM

Scams like this are part of the reason why Russia is the dash cam capital of the world.

SkinnyPupp 02-07-2018 02:47 AM

It will happen less in Canada than poorer countries because people can resort to welfare before resorting to crime

Poverty makes people more desperate. It's part of why it's so fucked up the rich keep getting richer and that amount of people is shrinking, while the population of the poor continues to grow.

Nabatron 02-07-2018 09:42 AM

in cases like this I would keep a foldable lawn chair and popcorn ready at all times. If some scammer said I hit them and said they were going to call the police. I would quickly grab my chair and popcorn from the trunk sit it down, tell them to call them as I sit there and crush my popcorn.

No being racist. But there is a reason why stuff like this happens more in china. The law in china is not as structure, local police varies in power and they way they governace.

It happesn alot in China because idoit scammer have actually succedd in pulling oft succesful scams like this because of actual ruling from court, police that just want to shove the case under the table and because there are actually alot of people in china that will just shove couple hundo in the scammer's pocket so they can get on with their day.

This idoit is obvioulsy fresh off the boat (again i am a chinese, I'm not trying to be racist just real) and assumes that people, the law and the police here act the same.

Obviously we are not, it looks like there is just one person stupid enough to try this here. This is really the stupidest way to scam, he will give up.

JUST NEVER NEVER GIVE ASSHOLE LIKE THIS ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY NOT ENOUGH $10.

Hondaracer 02-07-2018 10:35 AM

I find that fobs like this in general are beyond hesitant to call the cops. That goes for pretty much all situations. Growing up in a neighborhood that went from basically 90% 2nd/3rd/4th generation Canadians to almost primarily first gen residents, seems like the last thing anyone wants to do is call the cops. You could be smashing their car windows and they will wait for it to pass.

A guy like this would run away the instant you started calling yourself so you might as well preemptively call if you ever run into a situation like this

Eyes are kind of similar shape too, and that "point" at the corner of his eyebrows.

Not sure what's the update on this guy. But if they are the same person and he just got released, I'm not surprised someone with a shady past doing shady things again.

EvoSpider 02-07-2018 06:34 PM

While not confirmed it's the same guy, check out this guy's criminal record..
