bought a g-sync monitor, capped at $100 USD. ended up saving $129 CAD

BIC_BAWS 03-09-2018 06:02 PM

I just realized that this discount code would be a great way to save even more on DiscountTires' 4 tires for $100 gc deal

Edit: Looks like the discount tire direct deal is an ebay code, pretty sure you won't be able to use both.

Edit2: Ended up buying things that I really needed, like an oil filter socket and some trim pry tools. Ordered on ebay.com, and the code worked.

Anyone with a gmail address you can use the dot trick. Whey signing up for a new account on ebay just put a dot anywhere in your user name. Ebay will think it's a new address but gmail ignores the . .

Ebay thinks they are all new addresses.

I assume it's checking my IP

MG1 03-09-2018 06:21 PM

Don't you know someone in these parts that owes you a favour?

SkinnyPupp 03-09-2018 06:34 PM

I've done that so many times lol I thought about it but there are several issues...

One, paying in Canadian dollars, you lose out a lot on the exchange

Plus you have to then pay tax

Plus Ebay has more fees when shipping to Canada, on top of the actual shipping fee

Then you have to ship it FROM Canada to me, which is very expensive (Canada Post super expensive, plus tax again plus Canadian currency again)

By then I'd be WAY out of the $100 coupon savings LUL

Plus buying on ebay adds an extra layer of potential issues, if something goes wrong with the item, etc...

I was planning on waiting for months anyway, so I can go back to waiting FeelsBadMan

Was going to buy a portable Weller soldering iron that I needed for some stuff and had it in my cart ready to buy then I got distracted by something else and the code expired 13 minutes ago.

Amazon Prime killed off eBay.
Also their unpredictable rates for shipping and duties to Canada

J-Chow 03-20-2018 07:28 AM

It really depends on what you're looking for. Cheaper on Amazon Prime on certain items, but also cheaper on Ebay for others.

Expresso 03-20-2018 07:33 AM

Looks like eBay is running a 20% coupon on select vendors too.

dachinesedude 03-20-2018 07:36 AM

At the same time, eBay’s running a 20% coupon on home goods from select sellers with promo code PRETTYDAY, most notably the Dyson eBay outlet.
Ebay T&C:
Quote:

This Coupon is a 20% discount valid from 6:00 AM PST March 20, 2018 until 8:00 AM PST on March 26, 2018. Discount applies to the purchase price (excluding shipping, handling, and taxes) of an eligible item(s) of $25 or more on eBay.com, ebay.ca, or cafr.ebay.ca. Eligible items are items(s) purchased from the sellers listed below. The discount will be applied to eligible item(s) only and will be capped at a value of $50.
Jalopnik recommends to just pick anything and use the PRETTYDAY code first, then if it doesn''t work use PSPRINGTIME

dapperfied 03-20-2018 11:09 AM

A set of Conti ECS costs only $302 USD after $50 off :fullofwin:

Same tire in 205/50R15 is like $150+/tire pre-tax :fulloffuck:

604dragon 03-20-2018 11:36 AM

perfect time to get that dyson vacuum for my house. Anyone order one off ebay before? Can anyone recommend a good model? Leaning towards the full model rather than the handheld battery cordless one.
Looking at these 2
