It depends what you're vacuuming. If you are heavy on carpets get the upright, the handheld ones are not really strong enough for carpets. However, if you're not carpet heavy the handheld is the best. I do so much more vacuuming with the handheld knowing i can just pick up use and put down vs having to grab this huge thing out from the closet, plug it in, and even then be limited in range and mobility.

Not too sure who Jalopnik is but im looking more for one that is not cordless, as the reviews say the battery life on the cordless dysons aren't that long.

Yes except the new V10 has insane battery life but honestly carpet is not a cordless dysons best friend imo. Stuff on the surface sure but to really get in there you'll need a corded version.

I have a Dyson vacuum now and it's super convenient in size for a condo, but I find myself having to wash their filters a lot.

I also have allergies, and find that despite the HEPA marketing, it doesn't clean the air or the carpet nearly as well as my parents' German Miele they have at home.

Tried to use the prettyday code for the upright vacuum from the ebay.ca dyson store and it didnt work. Just ended up using the other coupon two minutes after the time it was supposed to end (7PM)PST and it still worked lol. Let me know if the prettyday coupon works for anyone.

I have a cordless Dyson DC62, and it's about as powerful as my old corded Samsung vacuum, and only lasts about 20 minutes. Which is fine for me because that's powerful enough and it's much more maneuverable for my tiny apartment.

If you have a big place or carpeting, I would recommend a corded version.
