What's going SO BADLY in the USA right now? Unenployment is the lowest % it's ever been and stock market is staying about where it was which is also the highest ever. Just cuz some old fuck with bad hair says the economy is in the toilet/it's a third world country doesn't mean it actually is. Anyone I know in the US is living a very fine life right now with an abundance of choices, lots of great cities or suburbs to live in if they choose to... yah SFO and NY and BOS are super expensive, but what else is new? |

Well.. as I was going to say in my rant I deleted.. if you’re a early/mid 30’s person in Canada, especially in the lower mainland Let’s say you exceeded all expectations, you got a “good” career, you’ve saved some money. What does that look like? A $700,000 mortgage in east Langley? lol No shit people are disenfranchised. Honestly I look at some peoples situations who I grew up with it’s like.. would I kill myself if I was in their shoes? A few people I graduated highschool with have recently committed suicide, almost certainly from a serious of unfortunate choices compounded with cost of living. |

My wife and I probably make almost triple what my parents made at our age we have quadruple or more than they did in assets, no kids, no debt, and I’m still like damn.. subway is getting expensive You have -no hope- in living even the slightest variation of your dreams lol.. but hey you’re “safe” if you stay inside your home and are lucky enough to be healthy. A decade of that turns a person against the govt. in power pretty quick. Also in terms of “financial woes aren’t life threatening” lol yea.. they kinda are.. look at the sky rocketing number of homeless. What’s going to be even worse going forward are the hidden homeless or people right on the edge. Once you’re on the streets, it’s a longggggg road back. If you’ve got 2 children, and a household income under $150,000 in Canada, your situation is hopeless. |
