It's a bit of a leap to conflate the circumstances of men who made a decision to marry/cohabitate and have children versus single young men whose prospects for achieving a decent life are dimmer today than in recent decades.

If you're a father, you tend to be a bit more resilient about your circumstances and make the choices that are necessary, even if your wife decides to leave you in the hope of greener pastures.

How many fathers do you know who commit suicide because life is "too hard"? I personally don't know any and I've been a father for almost ten years. Those men who tend to commit suicide tend to be single and childless, which is a growing demographic in our society.

westopher 08-20-2024 02:30 PM

The scariest part of becoming a parent is that my retirement plan of suicide is no longer viable.
I empathize a lot with the plight of younger people and their financial stresses. What I will never understand is how easily manipulated someone would be into believing that someone like trump will help them, or how blaming immigrants is the path chosen.
These people aren't struggling because of the government.

Wow everyone keep dying so it can help me stay out of jail.

You can definitely see the same trends here in Canada, particularly with John Rustad appearing on a Jordan Peterson podcast recently.

Having a majority of young men who are frustrated about their lives and future prospects is not a good thing, no matter which side of the spectrum you're on.

lol I like how most people just ignore this.

it's very easy to dissect.

men have no intrinsic value to society. we are born worthless, and have to build ourselves up from ground up, to display value, usually through work.

women are born with intrinsic value... I don't think I need to dive too deep on why for this one... hint hint they have wombs.

for decades women are taught they don't need men, that men are trash, and being a boss bitch is best, and being a mother and having children is beneath them.

now the law, society, and academics favour women... and nature favours women as well due to their intrinsic value.

so... what's left for young men? lol. women basically get to double dip if they wish, if they get in trouble, they get a get out of jail card for free. They literally get to have their cake and eat it too...

where young men now don't get either.

and the chances of them taking 50% is 50%+. and they're all sluts and hoes. and can't cook, and can't clean. and don't want to be mothers. and society is structured in a way that helps them take away the only thing that gave men value... their jobs LOL.

I'm sure if men could get pregnant and be a stay at home dad and milk the kids and all that, there would be PLENTY of guys that would jump on that role. but... the truth is... men can't get pregnant. they can't produce milk.

I really don't get it.

the rat race sucks. working sucks. men only do this cuz what other fucking thing are they gonna do? they are worthless otherwise. what? go fight and die in a war? LOL

Since when did we teach the girls in our country that working the rat race is great... that getting a 9-5 is superior than being a mother of 3? what the fuck?

When has giving birth to life have less value than a fucking job? LOL

shouldn't they be promoting being a mother of children is the single most important and greatest act a human being can do?

9-5... CEO boss bitch... LOL. no one's gonna care or remember.

trust me. men don't wanna work and compete in the rat race. it's just we don't have a fucking choice.

young men are pissed off cuz they've got nothing. and they're constantly told that they're not needed and their natural behaviour is "toxic".

that is why the rise of guys like Jordan Peterson, and Andrew Tate and all those guys has been so prevalent. They give these young men value. they're the ONLY ones telling young men that they're not "wrong".

everyone else basically tells young men that they're "wrong" for just existing.

the government needs to incentivize local people fucking and having kids instead of just relying on immigrants. lol. and it starts with academics. it's too late for the older kids. starting with the younger kids, they need to instil pride in having kids and having a family.

every time a woman gives birth at a hospital there should be confetti and bottles popping left and right, and some fucking parade for them... the military should come by and give them a Victoria cross/medal of honor. everyone should salute them. They just performed the highest deed a human can do.

Just like how they look forward to their marriage and day dream about it... they should have even more enthusiasm and daydream about having kids.

Yikes… tell me you don’t have healthy relationships with women without telling me….

SkinnyPupp 08-20-2024 09:21 PM

That is who the grifters prey upon. Women hating incels and bigoted edgelords. THAT is why young men are becoming "disenfranchised". They are being told the world is out to get them.

CivicBlues 08-20-2024 10:05 PM

So how many kids you raising these days, Ulic?

Ulic is obviously doing it wrong, unlike this guy:

mikemhg 08-21-2024 09:50 AM

Ulic has a bit of a point, but is looking at it in a closed sense, and a little too heavy on the incel stuff.

It's certainly true that the male/female dynamics have changed over the years and that has resulted in malcontent within young men. Women graduate and carry university degrees at a higher rate than men, they're seeing increased income, along with cultural changes that have skewed more in the woman's favor.

I think that's a good thing though, change is good, these changes however are vast and have occurred relatively quickly. The rightwing griftosphere has taken advantage of this and have weaponized its message online to cater to a swath of disenfranchised young men who are seeing their path to financial stability greatly declining (the inability to own a house, employment markets that have become fluid through outsourcing and rampant layoffs). Compound that with an increasingly shitty dating environment, a MeToo movement that most will admit went a little too far in some respects, and a lack of community.

It's a recipe for where we are today.

I'm starting to wonder if this guy was brought in to torpedo Trump's campaign?

Perfect timing to align with Obama's speech last night where he talked about Trump only caring about himself and being the victim. Great strategizing by the JD Vance team.

whitev70r 08-22-2024 06:05 AM

Hopefully, after the election, JD Vance comes out LBGT, gives kudos for his Yale law education, and reaffirms his original conviction, I had to do everything I can to make sure 'anyone but Trump'.

Ugh it's so cringe when any politician tries to talk to some person working a regular job, like you can just tell they don't actually give a shit and want to be out of there ASAP so they can go blow someone who actually has money to donate to their campaign.

Love how Trump is losing his mind over Kamala.

Quote:

Former president Donald Trump did not hold back as Democratic nominee Kamala Harris delivered her acceptance speech Thursday night, firing off a series of scathing, insulting and sometimes unrelated comments while Harris was speaking.

Trump took to his Truth Social account to make a variety of comments, from accusing Harris of falsehoods to defending his record to making extraneous remarks, such as demanding “WHERE’S HUNTER?” in reference to President Joe Biden’s son.

At the outset of Harris’s speech, Trump took exception to how she thanked the crowd for cheering her onstage at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Trump also complained that Democrats referred to Harris’s running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, as “coach,” pointing out that he was an assistant coach of a high school football team.
While Harris recounted her upbringing, Trump urged her to address his three main issues: “Border, Inflation, and Crime!”

“Kamala’s biography won’t lower prices at the Grocery Store, or at the Pump!” he said. He repeatedly criticized her for not already implementing her proposals during her time as vice president, a critique he has previously aimed at Republican and Democratic opponents with long records of government service. Still, Trump himself has already served a term as president.

Trump’s rapid-fire commentary created the unprecedented spectacle of a former president and current nominee firing off critiques of his rival’s acceptance speech in real time. While Harris’s speech was in many ways a traditional convention address, Trump’s unorthodox reaction to it underlined his harsh, visceral style of politics and suggested the former president was glued to Harris’s speech as it unfolded.

Trump falsely accused Harris of letting in 20 million undocumented immigrants, which would be almost twice the total estimated undocumented population as of 2022, and about twice the recorded enforcement encounters since 2021.

Trump called “many” of the undocumented immigrants “Criminals, who are MAIMING and KILLING our people!” The available data on crime rates among undocumented immigrants compared with the general population is incomplete, but an analysis by the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee concluded that about 10 percent of immigrants in removal proceedings had criminal convictions or pending charges.

At another point, Trump defended his opposition to a bipartisan bill to add emergency border authorities and funding, which Harris said he had blocked to deprive the administration of a politically beneficial accomplishment. Trump argued the legislation was unnecessary because Biden and Harris “could have just said, ‘CLOSE THE BORDER!’ like I did.” Illegal border crossings fell last month to the lowest level in four years, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data.

As part of reforming the immigration system, Harris suggested creating “an earned pathway to citizenship,” a goal discussed in both parties for decades. Trump responded, “SAY GOODBYE TO THE U.S.A.! SHE IS A RADICAL MARXIST!”

When Harris described the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 initiative as “written by his closest advisers,” the former president insisted: “LYING AGAIN ABOUT PROJECT 2025, WHICH SHE KNOWS, AND SO DO ALL DEMOCRATS, THAT I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH!” Trump has repeatedly sought to distance himself from the effort, which was intended to prepare the next Republican administration with policies and personnel, although many former Trump administration officials helped craft it.

As Harris vowed to sign legislation that would reinstate abortion rights nationwide, Trump defended the overturning of Roe v. Wade, falsely claiming that “everybody,” including Democrats, “wanted Roe v. Wade TERMINATED.”

One of the notable parts of Harris’s speech was her decision to address the sensitive topic of the war in Gaza. “I will always stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself, and I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself, because the people of Israel must never again face the horror that a terrorist organization called Hamas caused,” Harris said, also stressing the widespread suffering of Palestinians.

Trump proceeded to say: “SHE HATES ISRAEL - Wouldn’t even show up to Congress for Netanyahu’s session!” Harris did not attend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent address to Congress, but she met with him when he came to the United States.

In another rhetorical device Trump often uses, he several times turned Harris’s words back against her. “She’s talking about the Middle Class, but she’s the one who broke the Middle Class,” he said in one post. “I TRUST WOMEN,” he said in another, when Harris cited antiabortion proposals from Trump allies and asked, “Why exactly is it that they don’t trust women?”

“I saved NATO!” Trump responded when Harris accused him of undermining the alliance.
Harris said Trump cozied up to dictators, who she said are now rooting for him to win because he would be easy to manipulate. Trump responded, “There will be no future under Comrade Kamala Harris, because she will take us into a Nuclear World War III! She will never be respected by the Tyrants of the World!”

Trump continued his commentary after the speech ended, appearing on Fox News to argue that Harris has had plenty of time to accomplish the things she is now promising to do. “She could have done it 3˝ years ago,” he said.

Trump offered a series of other criticisms, then concluded that other than that, “it was a nice-looking room.”
