Realistically, I don't think there is the appetite for it in Canada. In both Toronto and Vancouver, residents are already quite upset about the cost overruns and the how much money it'll cost the 3 levels of gov to host the games. Anyone who actually pays attention to the economic aspect of the games knows the so-called economic benefits are all BS. It is an expensive party funded by taxpayers, with the corrupt FIFA raking in the dough.
To host more games in Vancouver or Toronto, the costs the 3 levels of gov will bear are gonna go even higher. It may or may not happen, but if it were to happen, there is definitely gonna be public backlash against the high gov spendings.
To host the games in another city -- potentially at Montreal since that would be the next biggest city besides Vancouver and Toronto. The Saputo Stadium already has a natural grass turf, so that's a plus for the possibility. But I'm pretty sure the seating requirements doesn't meet FIFA's World Cup requirements, so again, massive renovations will be needed, and again that means tons of money. There may not even be enough time for Montreal -- or any other city that isn't already hosting -- to complete the renovations by the tournament's start date.
I am very much a World Cup Soccer fan, and every time when it takes place, I follow the tournament closely. But even then, I have always recognized it for what it is, so I am against hosting it anywhere in Canada.

i wouldnt pay $2500 to see michael jackson come from the dead thriller style and have a concert let alone see a bunch of dudes from super far away have 4 chances to score all night and it end in 1-0. in my eyes no entertainment for 3 hours is worth that kind of money

I think you guys vastly underestimate the popularity of soccer.
If they add any amount of games, especially meaningful games to the Canadian schedule, they will all sell out instantly.
Those $2500 price tags are for suite experiences. The regular tickets will be far less. Hell, even if they are $500/$600/$800 people from the US or Europe are getting like 2:1 on the Canadian dollar, it will be the cheapest World Cup most people will ever attend.

I agree. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world outside of North America.
FIFA officials would consider how bad the optics would be of empty stadiums in the US because fans from Iran or another country under Cheeto's travel restrictions cannot fly to the US to watch their team play.
Would American or European fans watch Iran play Venezuela? -probably not.
There would be great interest from American, European, Australian ,and Asian soccer fans to watch their teams play in Canada. IF Canada and Mexico would host more World Cup games that are moved from American venues, the timeline to get stadiums ready for the matches would be very tight.
World Cup start date is June 11, 2026. Would stadiums in Canada and Mexico be ready by FIFA standards to host additional soccer matches?
That being said, I assume that FIFA signed contracts already with American cities which are hosting some of the matches. How can FIFA back out of those contracts without significant penalties? FIFA might face lawsuits from a country like the U.S. where there are plenty of lawsuits.

I am not underestimating the popularity of soccer -- after all, I'm a fan myself, and at this point, I'm debating whether I should go for the ticket lottery, or just volunteer at the Vancouver events.
You are definitely correct that even if the ticket price is Cdn $500, it will still be the cheapest World Cup game I will ever attend. Not having to travel to another city / country will instantly make it the cheapest ever. As a fan, it would be a dis-service to myself if I don't take the opportunity to soak in the experience. It’s all bullshit anyways.
The “Qatari” team is all English and European players they gifted passports to
I’m not a fan in the slightest but I’ll go heavy in on the lottery to go to at least a game or two and flip the rest

What is disgusting is that CEOs of Paramount/CBS, 60 minutes, ABC are all kowtowing and bending over to Trump. I wouldn't be surprised if WJS somehow 'settle' in a lawsuit, neither side claiming 'wrong' but WSJ putting $5M in Trump's Presidential library.

Yah, CBS wants to sell to Skynet, it's an $8B deal and needs government approval. What do you think is happening in the Paramount/CBS boardroom?

So far, only 13 teams have qualified (for the World Cup), and out of those 13, only Iran is on Trump's entry ban list. Venezuela is on the partial ban list, and it seems to be the only other country among the baned countries that may have a chance at making it to the World Cup. So realistically, I think we are only looking at just 2 teams that will play at the World Cup.
When push comes to shove, I'm sure FIFA can schedule Iran and Venezuela to play all of their group stage games in Canada and Mexico. Then when it comes to the elimination rounds, Canada and Mexico are still hosting several games in the first 2 phases of that, and it is unlikely that Iran and Venezuela could actually make it past the first 2 elimination stages.
So practically speaking, I don't think it is really necessary for FIFA move any of the US games to Canada at all.

Government wanted meta to pay for using Canadian news content because they get ad revenue from it.
Meta said fuck you we don’t pay for anything and our business is monetizing other peoples work.
Then they basically spun it so that people who don’t understand stuff thought Canadian government “controls the news”

Haha having more and more access to social media news = being informed now?
Wow.
Being informed = being directly involved in whatever is being talked about either occupationally or direct intimate contact with a service or product and its inner workings. Everyone thinks reading an article makes you an expert now.
Most everyone is a MISinformed holier than thou dumbass ‘masquerading as smart’ asshole now.
What everyone SHOULD be in a healthy society is a critical thinker and know that making ANY form of belief or understanding of anything literally your entire identity/reason for being needs to have stopped yesterday.

VAERS shows more adverse event reports from the COVID shots in 5 years than all other vaccines combined in decades. That’s not "reading an article", that’s raw government data.
You could have a 70 IQ and still think,

Sometimes common sense outperforms credential worship.

Remember how many people fell for the ridiculous fear-mongering and lies?
Trusting pharma and government blindly in a crisis might feel normal, but history shows why skepticism matters. The Iraq War was based on lies about WMDs and led to 500,000 deaths. No one went to jail. Vioxx killed 60,000 after FDA approval. OxyContin caused a global crisis. The Sacklers walked free. (After a 4.5 BILLION dollar fine.) COVID shots were rushed under emergency use with zero long-term data and full legal immunity. Pfizer and Moderna made over 90 billion. Trillions were printed and massive fraud followed.
Experts who raised concerns were censored. #NaturalImmunity was banned on social media. Reuters fact-checked for Twitter while its former CEO sat on Pfizer's board. The CDC even changed the definition of "vaccine" mid-pandemic.
Skepticism isn’t paranoid. It’s rational when the system has this much power, money, and a track record of deadly cover-ups.

If it’s ALL FAKE and nobody has any idea what was going into anyone, why didn’t they just inject everyone with water or fucking saline solution and not spend billions of their own dollars creating the vaccine(s) in the first place?
You can sit around making money selling fecal porn and AI slop to people and it’s all okay, but the second a big bad company makes money for saving tens of millions more lives than it ever endangered, you lose your mind. The hypocrisy is absolutely unreal.
You have ZERO qualifications and have no fucking idea whatsoever what you’re talking about. I’d be surprised if you even have a GED.
