Multiple Kentucky Whiskey Distilleries File for Bankruptcy

Kentucky's storied whiskey business is facing significant difficulties, with a number of distilleries filing for bankruptcy amid mounting debt, falling demand and uncertain global trade conditions.

Lisa Hawkins of the The Distilled Spirits Council of the United States told Newsweek: "This has been an extremely difficult time for distillers across the country who are dealing with increased production costs, a slowdown in spirits sales in the U.S. marketplace, and a significant disruption to spirits exports due to threat of tariffs and retaliation related to ongoing trade disputes.

"In fact, the majority of provinces in Canada, the U.S. spirits sector's second largest export market, continues to keep American spirits products off store shelves. As President [Donald] Trump continues to negotiate trade agreements with other countries, ensuring permanent zero-for-zero tariffs on distilled spirits with our major trading partners will give U.S. distilleries, large and small, a much-needed boost by providing them with the stability and certainty they need to plan for the future."

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's TEMU Superman working for ICE!!

For the record, I think that Henry Cavill was a better actor for Superman on the movie screen compared to Dean Cain on the small TV screen.

Former Superman actor Dean Cain has revealed that he’s joining the ranks of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, showing his support for US President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.

The comic book hero that Cain portrayed in the 1990s television show “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” might have been an immigrant himself, but it seems the actor has a more hardline view on foreign arrivals to the United States.

In an interview with Fox News Wednesday, Cain revealed that he decided to join the agency after sharing one of ICE’s recruitment videos on social media the day before.

“I’m actually… a sworn deputy sheriff and a reserve police officer – I wasn’t part of ICE, but once I put that (the recruitment video) out there and you put a little blurb on your show, it went crazy,” Cain told Fox News host Jesse Watters. “So now I’ve spoken with some officials over at ICE and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent ASAP.”
