I’d love if politicians were all independent and solely accountable to their constituents. I don’t think there’s any real possibility that will ever happen because of the financial requirements to run for office. Proportional representation and campaign finance reform are about as close as I think we can even get (even then, it’s a struggle as seen here).

We're seeing that in nearly every facet of society. Don't 100% agree with someone and you are cast out as a Nazi, racist, communist, snowflake etc. Today, SJW's are attempting to cancel their queen, JK Rowling, because she isn't intersectional enough and is now considered a TERF. Never ends.

Right? Politicians clamor for votes begging their constituents to trust them, then won't stand behind their name. No personal or professional accountability. Politics on this continent have become completely pathetic.

Not to cross another popular thread on this board but this (US as the quintessential champion of democracy) is precisely why I don't think democracy is the answer and be all. It's like red pill (sickening truth) or blue pill (blissful ignorance) ...

Agreed. Just look at how Tulsi Gabbard is being excoriated for her vote on impeachment.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...hment-critics/

Meanwhile the same blue checks on Twitter celebrate, lacking the realization that two thirds of the Republican Senate will need to vote in favor before he's actually gone.

Good thing the US isn't a true democracy.

Clearly you are just spewing whatever the alt-right sites you visit tell you to.

SkinnyPupp 12-19-2019 02:23 PM

Democrats try to be centrist as possible, and it often backfires (look at Hilary, and look at what WILL happen if they nominate Biden). Tulsi is like the first centrist that actually makes sense. But the Dems don't like her because she's anti-war, so everything you think you know about her is bad.

Manic! 12-19-2019 05:04 PM

The RSS are big supporters of Tulsi.

Great68 12-19-2019 05:27 PM

If there's just one thing that you need to knowwwww, It's that Trump said "Do us a favour thougggggh!!!!"

twitchyzero 12-19-2019 05:39 PM

For every election, they have a primary. Even the party in power has a primary but it's usually a formality.

Edit: This time some states have canceled republican primaries. I guess to protect trump. I wonder what hill happen if he is kicked out of office.

These neolibs have no problem protecting their swamp buddies.
Even when the result is hundreds of thousands killed under false pretenses.

I have no idea but she is getting money from RSS supporters. For the last 6 days, there have been massive protests and riots in India over an anti-Muslim immigration bill. The RSS is anti-Muslim and got modi into power.

Makes the HK police look like choir boys.

StylinRed 12-19-2019 07:16 PM

The Indian police were caught breaking storefronts, parked vehicles, etc, and setting fires, then blaming the violence on protesters... Thing is they wreaked havoc in uniform

SkinnyPupp 12-19-2019 07:35 PM

Yeah what's happening in India is brutal. They are apparently putting Muslims into camps as well.

My question is, is Gabbard supported directly by the RSS, or by rich Hindu-Americans who are also creepy nationalists (or worse, direct RSS members or supporters)? Maybe they are supporting her because she's the first Hindu congresswoman, and would be the first Hindu president. So while she may not agree with what they're doing, they accept her as "close enough" and a good thing for their goals of Hindu nationalism.

Saree, not saree Kappa

Bouncing Bettys 12-19-2019 08:31 PM

Was it Manic who supported Hillary during the primaries for the 2016 election? I know at least one poster on here did.

Anyways:
