Some of your posts are so absurd, it's hard to tell if you're being sarcastic or just extremely naively idealistic.

That is why I said you are being naively idealistic. You love the idea of capitalism, but are completely blind to how it is actually working IRL. Since you live a life of privilege, you are being willfully (and maybe blissfully) ignorant to what your fellow human beings are going through. And at the same time, you are being willfully and happily picked apart for all you're worth by the 1% of the 1%.

So you're right. Not everyone thinks the same. Some of us are ignorant and clueless.

You're championing a model which is at best inconclusive. And at worst a disaster which would cost (This province alone) tens of billions of dollars, increase poverty and the wage gap, quite possibly sink the economy, with no specified measurable return in sight.
Tell me again whose being naively idealistic?

As pointed out before regarding the Finland trial:

That trial was flawed. It only had unemployed participants - all test results are inconclusive.

Taxation did not change for these people. The whole point of UBI is that it should be coupled with a reform of the tax-brackets, as the UBI is essentially a negative tax-bracket

Not to mention Finland is a vastly different country than Canada - for example post secondary is already free there. This is why our own government wants to do their own study...

If you were able to think critically you would understand all these factors.

Hey, sure. Do the study. That's fine. Until then people probably shouldn't claim that it's some wonderful idea with absolutely zero basis (and really contrary evidence so far) to back that up.

Seems a little naive to me.

I'm curious where you drew this conclusion. Do i live a "life of privilege" because i went back to get my GED? Because i trained for a career that's in demand and i enjoy? Because i go to work five days a week And haven't taken a vacation in years? Because I exercise regularly? Don't touch drugs or alcohol? Have never taken a cheque from the government, yet a sizable portion of my paycheck goes to them?
Is that my "privilege"?

So which is it? Am i privileged? Or am i poor? Should i be sympathizing? Or pitied?

I didn't say that this is 100% "the solution". Just that there needs to be a new one moving forward. I'm glad they're looking into it, whether it works out or not.
