Again Even if Duke triggered it, it already has nothing to do with it. How long you would be upset over something? 1 month 2 3? It is bypassed stage called "2 idiots meet". Now it is bulling, stupidity and incompetence

Hi all, so I've been lurking this thread for awhile and just wanted to reveal that I got a Box 2 VI from Cain himself earlier today in front of my house after he followed me from Victoria Drive. Car appeared as follows:
https://imgur.com/a/BrGFwJk
https://imgur.com/a/3zUVtSk
VI notice states loud exhaust when under load, but is a car not always under load when the gas is pressed? he read my car as 89 dB @ 2500 rpm, but I'm not sure how far he measured it from, and he even mentioned that my car isn't that loud but is "too loud when driving around".

What in the fuck.... The guy's not right in the head.

I can make car noises out my window while going down the street that are louder than 89dB.

This is now getting beyond ridiculous... I see this as an abuse of power now... Complete stock car with only modified exhaust system and aftermarket tails...

It seems to be getting down voted at the moment. The local media seems to watch /r/vancouver so it's worth dropping by to up-vote the thread.

The subreddit itself is full of cynics. They down vote anything that isn't critical of the housing crisis, pipelines, state of public transit, or taxis. Everything else is garbage to them.

Yea, you guys with minimal mods really need to write in complaints.

Hey guys, If you have a dash cam, I'd suggest you to question the officer when they pull you over to ask exactly whats wrong with your car. If he says he'll test your exhaust DB levels, ask and confirm what he will do so it will all be recorded as evidence.

He's totally changing up his "tests" depending on each occasion. This is unfair, we don't deserve to be treated like this. I can't believe the no one in the department is speaking up. What kinda bullshit contradiction is "he even mentioned that my car isn't that loud but is "too loud when driving around".

This guy doesn't want to lose face for falsely pulling someone over so he'll pull a VI out of his ass.

So one person gets tested at 3000 rpms and another at 2500 rpms for exhaust sound? I guess the test varies depending on the weather.

The people that got tested at different rpms need to file a complaint, clearly the test is not being done right.

Yes, but i think people are empathetic when they see cops abusing power.

It seems like Cain is really taking advantage of the ease of pulling people for VIs just to boost his ego as a traffic cop. He probably enjoys the verbal argument with the drivers cause he knows they will always lose with the VI.

Anyways, I feel sorry for those who are getting VIs with minimal mods or the proper modifications.

Saw a rusty Volvo get pulled over today on Knight St just before the bridge. It's the same unmarked truck I've seen stopping an FRs and a jeep the other day.

The Volvo looked rusty and had some minor exterior mods on it though. Bet it wouldn't have been stopped if it was only for being rusty with no mods.

It looked like something that should be VI'ed due to its condition but like I said, was probably singled out for the mods rather than for the condition of the car.

Let's be honest, majority of people don't drive performance coupes or modified cars to begin with so they aren't going to be victims in any way. The general public won't care, and if anything, won't see the issue with what the police are doing.

They'll probably be wondering why people modify a perfectly good working car? Don't fix what ain't broken........

I know that it won't help me at all but I bought a decibel meter and stashed it in my glovebox in case I get VI'd again.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more video footage of the interactions surfacing. I only recall one off the top of my head posted in here. It doesn't need to be an altercation... Just simply a video for evidence of Cain or Co, spewing wrong information and misquoting the MVA.

I just bought this cheap one (link below) off of Amazon.ca for under $30 and figured I'd test it out, return it if it was garbage. It was seemingly more accurate than using a phone app (we tried both and they were close but the dB meter was more what we thought it be). There's other meters around $40-$70 as well!
