whats the best way to clean your pipe?

i put mine in a pot of simmering water and it worked quite well

Go to the Pharmacy and buy isopropanol let the pipe soak in it and then rinse it off with HOT water and use a q-tip to scrape out the shit. I just keep doing that until it's clean and it's works great. I've been doing it this way for 10yrs and it's the cheapest and easiest method.
