What's a good personal one for around $150? I think the Pax is somewhat of a gimmick but it seems like a nice desktop option kinda thing

I know you guys were talking about affordable vapes a while back but I couldn't find the page?

Also where do you guys order from? All the local places there's start at like $230

Has anyone tried this kind of vape?

Da Buddha 120V Vaporizer Kit

There are quite a few decent ones but I'll just name a few for starters.

No2 is pretty solid one. A little bigger and less portable vs the others but it's by no means huge. Rechargeable battery operated and even has a car charger if you need. Also able to set heating temp. Avg around $170

Magic Flight Box is a popular one and is decent for price. Very small and portable and operates via AA battery. Avg around $90

Iolite is decent too which is butane operated. About the size of a cellphone. Avg around $130 and the newer one around $160

Vansterdam has/had a trippy stick which is like an electronic cigarette but the main difference is these ones are for smoking oil only but he can recommend a couple other ones if you like oil.

The avg prices I stated can vary + up to $30 more depending on where you buy it and sometimes the higher prices will includes a bunch of extra/bonus items. I bought my No2 on eBay but there are plenty of other places online.

People's opinion vary but I wouldn't say portable vapes suck. Some dumbasses will even go as far as comparing them to volcanoes but that's just an unfair comparison.

a couple pages back we talked a little bit about some of the portable vapes but if you go back far enough there are other reviews on them in this thread. The following link is from a couple pages back where we talked about it a little bit.

That's a hard question to answer mang. All 3 are very different in terms of the experience. My question is, have you tried all 3 before? If the answer is yes what did you find to be your favorite? Also a bong isn't as convenient imo but depends on your situation.

Vape if you can afford it and have a place to sit at home and smoke. Same thing with a bong since you don't really want to carry it with you.

A pipe is great cause it's portable, cheaper and still get's your ripped. That's how I started smoking since it was so easy to carry with you and you can get a sweet pipe for $50 or under.

Hondaracer 08-27-2012 11:51 AM

The other thing id say which I'm kind of undecided on is do I really need a $300 "portable" vape that I'm just going to use strictly at home? Do most of you guys with vapes keep it strictly at home?

Also do vapes give off still a stronger "weed" smell or is there really not much to it? I'm not oposed to vaping inside but if there is a residual odor that I notice then I am

DC2aDDicT 08-27-2012 01:21 PM

Thanks for the inputs. I want something that is portable and does not cost over $100. So im gonna get a pipe.

On a side note, has anyone watched a very harold and kumar christmas in 3d while ripped? Lol pretty funny movie

IMO you don't need a $300 portable vape for home. I typically only use it at home and sometimes at the movie theater.

Smell wise a vape gives off way less smell compared to a joint. The best way I can explain it is somebody in another room or even another floor could smell the joint you just smoked in your room. A vape is really only noticeable if you're in the same room. The smell is also very different as well and not nearly as potent. It also goes away significantly quicker.

Another thing to keep in mind is do you like the experience of a vape? The high is a bit different, the taste is different, and the whole experience is different. TO be honest I don't actually like it that much but sometimes when I'm too lazy to roll, too lazy to go outside, or perhaps I'm running low and haven't reloaded yet it will help me conserve.

I've got a vape, and if you were to come inside my house after I just finished using it, you would tell there's a hint of weed aroma lingering.

Most of the smell though is from the weed lying out on your coffee table. Clean your table, blow out the window, and you'll be fine.

Anyone remember where the doctor is to get the card?

your probably right, i just got sold on the Pax and how cool it looked/felt in your hand lol

and your also right whether or not i even like the vape high, ive been smoking now for about 8 years pretty frequently and since the beggning it's basically been joints, also everytime i go to the vapour lounge or have somone who has a volcano, i never know what the actual vape high is like because we usually smoke a cannon right after lol

i think i'll buy one of the cheaper personal ones to start and if i really enjoy it move up to the pax at christmas or somthing, appreciate the input

Hondaracer 08-27-2012 03:59 PM

also, so do you guys have a go-to site for ordering online that carries vapes? ebay has decent prices but most people with NO2 or ilight are in the states

EDIT* so i found this guy on ebay selling the iolite as well as NO2, which do you guys think i should go with? i like that Winson recomends the NO2..

NO2:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ht_7517wt_1163

Ioilite:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Iolite-Origi...t_14581wt_1163

i guess the main upside is that NO2 is recharable?

winson604 08-27-2012 04:21 PM

Rechargeable and the fact that you can set the temperature up to 400 degrees. No other portable vape has the ability to set the temperature. However, the No2 is a little more annoying to carry around, if you plan to carry it around when you're out. If it's mostly for home then Id say go for the No2.

Don't worry about them eBay sellers being from the states. Vapes aren't illegal to ship and duties from my experience at least is a non factor. I've bought over 100 items from eBay all from outside of Canada sellers and never once got charged duties or had my packages detained. At least 10 of those items were weed related such as grinders, vapes, etc.

Not sure if it's handy for you but the car charger I use a lot. If you think you'll need it then maybe try finding a power seller who has it included as an item.

Hondaracer 08-27-2012 04:58 PM

I've bought stuff as well but my main concern is duty with sellers who use UPS for duty

You think that is a good price for the no2? Also how long have you had yours winson? Any problems?

Can't comment on UPS then. For US sellers I've only ever had USPS delivery.

Had mine for about 10 months now and haven't had any problems so far. Keep in mind though I only use it once in a while. By once in a while I would say avg only once a week. I still love my joints! At $99.99 that's a good price, it retails for $179-$199. I didn't even realize that sellers were selling it for this low now. When I got mine 10 months ago $99 was unheard of on eBay.

i even shipped to point roberts and picked it up, no hassle from border either.

BigTrollFace 08-27-2012 08:01 PM

All I remember was he was on fraser and 40 something

K-bad 08-27-2012 08:05 PM

The arizer solo portable vape i bought was 280$... I bought it from cottonmouth. My wallet was crying after i left the store, 1 week later no regrets :woot2:.

I can smoke in my room without it smelling at all, and in hotel rooms when we went on our trip to edmonton.

Hondaracer 08-27-2012 10:20 PM

went with the NO2, will review once it's here

basically ive been wanting to slow down/quit smoking because its definately holding me back basically due to short term memory effects and it really seems to hamper my word power, i'm a fairly well educated, well spoken person, and after a good weekend of a few sessions i feel like i get tongue tied in social situations, see if the vape offers anything new

thanks for the advice Winson

edit* just for anyone wondering about the pax one, this was one of the better reviews i found and kinda shows a good overview:
