I don’t need one, but I’m certainly in for a deal. Wait, that’s not a deal cause I don’t need a townhouse... ????

MG1 11-23-2018 11:50 AM

You don’t need a townhouse. Go UGM. Or cardboard.............

Remember, it’s only a deal if you really need it. Besides, townhouses in the GVRD are already a bargain.

EDIT: too slow..........sausage fingers, meet the iPhone.

I don’t know why, but I got me a USB turntable. I already have a high end turntable and my “daily driver” needs a new belt. This one will be my new daily. It had to be USB or at least wireless. I didn’t want those Uber cheap USB turntable, so I went with an Audio Technica 120. It’s direct drive and manual, but the USB was a must. My mom has realily old 78’s that are priceless. I’ll record them and digitize via USB. The turntable does 78’s but just needs a dedicated needle. $100.00 off the turntable, so it’s all good.

so i had a super tough time deciding between samsung 55" 7100 vs samsung 50" 7400 for the same price $699. ultimately i chose the bigger size with less functionality. the smaller size had bluetooth while the bigger didn't. the 58" 7100 samsung also for $699 and sold out but it was too big for my wall so it worked out.

smart TV's are becoming so bloated with BS its probably safer to go with a TV with less features these days

Jmac 11-23-2018 04:04 PM

Probably going to pick up a new iPad.

Berzerker 11-23-2018 04:07 PM

Got a XB One S 1 Terrabyte from Microsoft with 2 games for 250$ Couldn't justify getting the X for $500 as I don't even have a 4K TV at this time.

Berz out.

I thought this year was kind of a joke, and everyone I’ve alsked said the same thing. Lots of places had maybe one or two tv’s for no better sale than normal. Otherwise it was just a sea of 10% off or $20 off a set of $350 headphones.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I remember Black Friday deals being so good that if you DIDNT buy it you’d feel like an idiot. As my wife so elegantly put “I expect a price so cheap I’m willing to stomp someone to death for it”

went to T booth and got the following

55 bucks for 5gigs (exisiting fido customer) and whatever minutes.

The key point here is the iphone 8 for 0 dollars and also they gave us 150 dollars of accessory credit. So we got like a free google home mini, 2 wireless chargers, a selfi stick, and a otterbox case. Yeah the phone is outdated, but this is for my mother in law anyways so its good for her.

jackmeister 11-23-2018 05:23 PM

I was in the market for a TV, specifically Samsung 75" NU8000 for the newly renovated basement

I've been tracking the price of it since August w/ a Chrome extension on the Visions.ca website and it has steadily come down to below 3k, but today isn't the lowest price, see below:

Aug 17 - 3698
Sept 17 - 2998
Sept 21 - 2698
Oct 4 - 2998
Nov 1 - 2698
Nov 10 - 2388
Nov 11 - 2698
Nov 12 - 2388
Nov 12 (3 hours later) - 2698
Nov 16 - 2498
BF - 2498

The deals today aren't that great.........

Sony CarPlay/Android Auto $300 down from 570

a big deal because it has a freakin' volume knob unlike even the $1600 high-end stuff

They trained everyone to think that you just have to buy shit on Black Friday now, so they don't need to give anyone good deals anymore. People get so fucking jacked up to buy shit.

XplicitLuder 11-23-2018 06:41 PM

decided to hold off on TVs, even tho I have this meh 32" Toshiba lol I just didn't feel like dropping a grand.

Did buy the Samsung Evo 860 1tb SSD + Detroit "Human" (ps4 game) and got a second monitor, a BenQ model 24" , not on sale as it was 299 regular on amazon, but the other monitors that were 299 on sale weren't as good I think

black friday landed right as I am about to take possession of my apartment so works out well for me.
Been slowly buying things since before last years black friday so I wasn't stuck with buying whatever sale I found this black friday.

Picked up the LG c8 55" yesterday at best buy. Not the best deal ever but just made it below my threshold of 2k.
