Maybe I’m crazy, but I remember Black Friday deals being so good that if you DIDNT buy it you’d feel like an idiot. As my wife so elegantly put “I expect a price so cheap I’m willing to stomp someone to death for it”

I guess it depends what you're looking for. My wife and I are expecting next month and we bought a few items for the baby that usually never go on sale. An Uppababy Cruz stroller regular $730, we got it for $584, a childrens playmat regular $140 and we got it for $112. Also saved $6-$10 on a few smaller items like bottles, pacifiers, butt cream (LOL). That's over $200 saved on items we need.

The real black friday is on craigslist where everyone has to get rid of their old shit now

Did you find any decent deals on the iPad? Best I could find were US deals - the 15% off eBay the other day and Adorama selling for $749 for the 64GB Wifi model

I grabbed the 32 GB 6th gen from Staples for $350, used Air Miles to knock $100 off.

Anyone see a deal for an external hard drive?

Don't need anything fancy, whatever's a decent price will do.

I really don't see the appeal of a "smart" TV. Unless I'm missing something all the smart features are just shittier versions of things you can get from something else ie. Netflix.

For the last while most of the "deals" are just strategically timed permanent price drops. Most of the stuff on sale right now is likely to never go back up in price, especially tech.

Exactly. This is how marketing works. Using the "limited time" component to strike the FOMO human psychology.

I caved in and bought a Pixel 3 :[

Switched to a cheaper cell phone plan with more data

Changed ISP, cheaper and faster

Disconnected my home phone number

Bought a bunch of random bluray movies and Pixel case/screen protector on Amazon

Going to avoid browsing the internet or checking emails today to avoid temptation :P

AstulzerRZD 11-24-2018 12:55 PM

Picked up an iPhone 8 for $410 all in, including 3 months of service. Seems like they're still selling for $600+ on the used market.

Koodo's deals were nuts - S9 was all sold out at $0 medium tab, S8 was all sold out for $0 medium tab less $150 worth of PC points, iPhone 7 were all sold out at $0 medium tab with $250 worth of PC points (final cost of ~$110) :fulloffuck:

Mr.HappySilp 11-24-2018 12:58 PM

Added to my list got a pair of Levis from The day $59 down from $89 and a pair of runners from Twonshoes $60 down from $100.

Just got an 8 TB external from Staples for $149.00 before taxes. Only one left. They’ve been out of stock at every location since yesterday morning, but today at the Broadway near Granville Street location, they had one. It was probably one that was on order and nobody picked it up.

If you didn’t get one, there’s alway Boxing Day.

A matter of perspective really. I picked up 3 itmes.

Orab B 6000 - $200 down to $100 so 50% is pretty huge
PS4 - $260 (2nd cheapest price in it's entire history) so yea I'd say that's a deal

1000 Rounds of 223 bullets - $0.34 each. I usually buy these once a year in December during the year end sale and when we buy it then it's already a deal coming in around $0.44 a round so this was a steal

So for me I scored big.

These have been "on sale" forever, stack it with one of the 10-20% off eBay deals and it's a solid deal.

re 'Smart' TV: the list of apps have gotten shorter and shorter from my Samsung that has a quad-core from the Note 3 era

Youtube suddenly disappeared on a slightly older Sony because it couldn't meet the new encryption criteria

just grabbed the Roku Ultra for it ($50 USD, probably just a new price) ,so yeah I much prefer a dumb TV if they still sell that

Order some Pokemon Mugs online as Chirstmas presents. Let's hope it arrive on time if not people will have to wait for their presents.

Have gotten multiple dash cameras (myself and family members) as well as other work done at BPG Autosound in Richmond with no issues and great service. They installed a back up camera for me and replaced it without me even having to request for it or go through the warranty process myself when it crapped out.

Lol maybe Cyber Monday deal is better

That aside, I've seen quite a few stores have better Cyber Monday deal vs Black Friday lol.

Not affiliated with this person in any way, but if u search on market place on FB, for the name "Areal Wong", they do dashcam install at $60 for 1CH and $130 for 2CH.

Not even sure if this is competitive market pricing, but thought I'd share.
