The first time I played through I had a broken Sunder with 4 ER PPC to end the mission. This time around I just cleaned house, the 5 clanners could barely get a shot in :lol |

i think the idea is that the edges of a new shiny ring (you're rigid b/c you don't know shit about shit and scurred) get smoothed out as time (and experience) passes on and you acquire knowledge & wisdom. not sure if that's true in many cases but that's the theory. |

Wow Edgemont is the next community over from me in Hawkwood lol... that lady has crazy street cred now! |
Your post reminded me that Scott Adams, the creator of Dilbert, has recently died from cancer. CBC has a really good and impartial summary of him if anyone is interested: https://www.cbc.ca/news/entertainmen...bert-9.7043533 While the guy has gradually turned into a conservative bigot and fell out of favour among the general public, I think it is only fair for me to acknowledge that he was once a giant and an inspiration for people like myself who worked in the IT / tech industry. For quite a long time, every satire he drew was relevant to my workplace in some way. And even to this day, I kind of see myself as a less intelligent version of Wally at work LOL~ |
My dad used to LOVE Dilbert... made buying Christmas and birthday presents so easy for a few years there. Too bad he turned into a total nutjob. |
i lol'd when i read his final words. he did the most half assed hail mary confession to jesus where his ego wouldn't let him fully get into it. either do it or don't. Next, many of my Christian friends have asked me to find Jesus before I go. I'm not a believer, but I have to admit the risk-reward calculation for doing so looks attractive. So, here I go: I accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior, and I look forward to spending an eternity with him. The part about me not being a believer should be quickly resolved if I wake up in heaven. I won't need any more convincing than that. And I hope I am still qualified for entry. if heaven were real and it were that easy to get in then why even bother going to church or praying your entire life. just write a little twitter confession! |

i think the logic that applies here is: if you say you're sorry but you're not really sorry... is that really an apology? that being said, i always enjoyed dilbert. on topic, one of his most memorable series was pronounced hay-soos http://burningbosom.wordpress.com/fi...03/dilbert.gif |

Scott Adams sorta sits in the same vein of human as R.Kelly, Bill Cosby, JK Rowling, and P.Diddy - all terrible, terrible, terrible people but I think it's ok to say you appreciated the art they created and I think it's a grey area if one to continue to appreciate and view it. As for your Wally, I was often the pointed headed boss. |
I love dilbert. That loud Howard guy, pointy hair boss and dogbert and cat Bert were my favourites. Dilbert himself not so much. Stupid guy. The animated series was great. I rewatch it all the time. |

Over the years, I've learned to look at people for who they are within a specified time period, and I won't necessarily use the more current behaviour to invalidate someone's past behaviour or achievements. To me, if I were to do that, that would amount to what I'd consider as cancel culture. People may change over time, but history doesn't (even though lots of people, esp those in power, wish they could and try to change historical narratives all the time). Scott Adams had a poignant observation about the corporate (and esp IT world), and his achievements and recognition at the time were the proof. And come on, you can't possibly be anywhere close to being as dumb as the Pointy Haired Boss. Maybe as wicked LOL~ |
