Dont you just sit on your ass at the gas station or slumlord it up? Its not like you work a normal job

Not even close to being a slumloard. There is not a single place we rent i would not spend a night in.

Our gas station has been closed less than 30 days in 35 years. You have no idea how much work it is.

Badhobz 12-27-2025 06:53 PM

30 days in 35 years is balling. That’s some next level jew shit

But how hard can it be to sit there ?!?!?

Just hire your cousin to sit there you cheap bastard. Then you can hands off and go make more baby manics, which you can then employ…. The circle of manic !!!!!

Speaking of jobs, do any of you guys who have a full-time career ever do part-time work in the evenings and/or weekends?

A buddy of mine started doing that, and he's motivated me to do the same, since I WFH, and have the extra time to utilize in the evenings. It would have to be something in the evenings or late afternoon, as I already work full-time in my career, and can only do 20 hours or less per week.

Curious if anyone has done the same, or have any suggestions of things to consider looking at?

Start an only fans Mikey!!! I’ll join you and cater towards the women who loves fat chinks (quite niche I know)

Realistically. The more you make the more you’ll get taxed. So not worth it unless it’s very low effort.
Like day trading or investing or sitting at a gas station

I don’t even work full time hours anymore lol I couldn’t imagine a work week that’s MORE than full time. I’d rather do something cool.

I did it when I first graduated. I kept my university job so I worked my regular ass 9-5 M-F and my university job on Saturday and Sundays. Did it until they didn't need me anymore and goes back to Manic's point, they need some one more than just Sat and Sun.

Part time work for someone else after your full time job is a neverending trap trading time for money unless there’s a beneficial skill that you can learn . You’re much better off spending those 20 extra hours investing in yourself and starting a mikemhg business if you don’t want to level up your current employment situation. You’ve got more discipline than 99% of the population already. Aim high

Since it's after work, try and find something you're passionate about or a hobby.
This guy built a clothing brand and grossed 340k on his third year

Do none of the shirts he sells fit him?

Something my brother said at Christmas stuck with me. You either work your ass off in your 20's or your 40's. How many people do you know from high school that did nothing in their 20's now working their asses off in their 40's. I know a few.

If you really want to get ahead in life in this country you have to be willing to work your ass off at some point in your life.

Immigrants to Canada from places like India will do well because they are willing to work harder and smarter.

Then bring them in by the boatload and call them what they are - TFWs. Not fucking "students" at a goddamn stripmall college. And it this point it's hard NOT to fault the immigrants themselves now since they have all the information right out there on the internet telling them it's a backdoor to immigrating to Canada. It's The grift that never stops grifting...

I didn't have a part-time job per se but I did a number of things related to my job that were extracurricular activities such as public speaking and teaching (a little bit of it paid) that helped me launch my current business. I never did it for the money but instead I focused on things that would open up opportunities for me in the future or it let me dabble in stuff that I thought I might be interested in the future (for example, I did some light advising of some startup CEOs to see if there was an opportunity there for me. I also met with some investors).

What's your root motivation for considering it? Want more short term cash? Want to learn some new skills? Experiment with future career opportunities? Address boredom?

A way to think about this: In 10 years time what's the situation you want to be in with your life/career and what are the skills/experiences that you need to acquire between now and then to make that possible? How certain are you that this is the outcome you want? If you're not certain then what are the things you need to do to validate/test if it's what you want?

Unless I was in a position where I really needed the money, absolutely not. I already don't have enough time for my hobbies.

mikemhg 12-28-2025 02:04 PM

My main hobbies usually start to ramp up around May, so I was only planning to do some part-time work until around then, honestly just to fill up some time in the evenings to distract my wandering mind, as of late.

The added money won't make much of a difference outside of perhaps some additional vacation/spending money. My work is very much project-based, so it's peaks and troughs, giving me the time. The GF works nightshifts, and I can only go out and drink with buds so often, the winter evenings are starting to become boring, so I figured I'd slot something in to be more productive.

Funny enough I'm going to meet with my friend's boss at his side-job next week, it's total bullshit work, very much beneath my qualifications, but he's like me, full-time career, looking for a distraction. We laughed about how we could be in misery together doing this shit for a few months :lol

The GF and I joked one time about OF, we would make money while on vacation! :lol

Not a chance though, my tattoos are way too identifiable :)

Fun fact, in my early 20s I did do a few bachelorettes. Decent money for a few hours, but very stressful..

We deal with 20 plus suppliers, do at least 5 to 6 orders a week ourselves and have deliveries 5 days a week. Last night I had to change a filter on a diesel pump because it was running slow. All my cousins have well paying jobs. Pharmacists, dentists, lawyers etc.

It's a lot of work but the benefits are worth it.
