And what did Biden do? Fuck All. Or at least negotiated in good faith behind closed doors. Because you don't take points of negotiation and threaten to blow up the economy or annex your neighbour ally for petty personal grievences.
Biden doubled the tariffs on lumbar and threatened Canada on the DST. They were going to legally challenge it, which is exactly what the Trump administration continued to do. Did Canada hit their 2% of GDP commitment towards NATO or was Canada just being a free-rider?

Isn’t what he did good though? If your population disagrees, and you listen, that’s something I’d want in a leader. A girl just started here at work whose father was just killed in Ukraine. She arrived here a few months ago. Kinda puts Canadian issues in perspective if they weren’t there already.

As growth worsens in the near-term, it leads to lower revenue and countercyclical spending pressures. Carney's inaction cultivated two bad scenarios; either Canada will accept a deal with Trump to achieve economic certainty that both markets and investors crave, or he can prolong the negotiations and let the economy in Canada slide into a recession. The liberals have truly entered a lose-lose phase that could have been negated by negotiating much earlier.
