Always wet all the time it’s much more dry in the lower mainland.

I lived there for 5 years, and I just didn't see it. I had a 15 year old Toyota (not JDM) and it was fine. None of my friends cars had rust problems, and some of them were old 'sheds'.

Old rovers, and other POS euro trash rust out but all the decent cars were fine. Maybe I'm wrong, but even my defender which was 15 years old and spent the first 5 years working on a farm only had minor surface rust on the frame and that thing was just mild steel with no wax oil for the first 10+ years of it's life.

You can fail your MOT for rust too.

Bottom line, get your car from an enthusiast or well known dealer and you'll be fine. Buy it from someone shady and you'll probably be screwed. Same as anywhere.

@SkunkWorks We need to do something about the 4x4 mode when you get back.

Spoiler!

It's super dirty it's just a shit cellphone snap but driving it for the first time since March was pretty nice. The softer front springs and Vibrant resonator are a huuuuuge improvement so thanks to everyone who suggested that and helped me sort out how to install it.

It should be getting extra grimy at Totem this year, you should enter with the RS.

What road is this? Yellowstone is next on my list of roadtrips, would love to hit this up on the other side.

twitchyzero 09-13-2019 09:49 AM

bearthooth highway (check the weather...photo was taken a week ago but there were already closures this week)

looped back to the park via chief joseph scenic byway, less dramatic hairpins but almost no cars and very country-side feeling

https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Yell...0445!3e0?hl=en

i had no cell service in the park so don't rely on google maps for travel time esp in the park, through haden or lamar valley there will be bottlenecks during dawn/dusk due to bisons on the road

on the way home detour a bit through idaho on US 12 from lolo pass to lewiston...it hugs the clearwater river and feels gold rush-esque during sunset...very worthwhile at least 2 hours of tight turns after one another

https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Lolo...46.4004089!3e0

good idea to gas up beforehand, there are no stations in the first half

I'm in Hamburg for work at I can't get enough of this awesome vw I rented. I'd probably sell my first born just to have this back home.

Don't need a permit when your car has those wheels...
