Nah, this car wasn't made for the track. It was made for this:

Teriyaki 04-04-2021 06:02 PM

That makes me so hard

white rocket 04-05-2021 07:19 PM

Ughhhhh, so good!!! It looks like he's jamming it into 1st at like 40kph. Lol!!

Sadly never gonna come to the NA market, it is gonna be too expensive and for low sales too. The car is too small, manual and not adapted to the US market.

They have BOS suspension too, love the brand on my Downhill bike but unless you go to France good luck for a service.

Perfect for Japan and Europe. Now I want to drive one in the alps. I miss my Megane RS and my R5 Alpine.

^ I thought the GR Corolla hatch is confirmed for North America market...

But you are right though, it will be too expensive and the sales will be low.... I can see this being a 1 to 2 model year thing....

vitaminG 06-05-2021 12:53 PM

^ it's even on their website.

While GR Yaris isn't coming to the U.S., perhaps it's time the U.S. got a Toyota hot hatch to call its own

I would have much preferred the GR Yaris as it's a better representation of a WRC car compared to the GR Corolla

JDMDreams 11-23-2021 12:30 PM

Go home Integra you're drunk :lawl: can't believe Toyota is doing this, seems like a better pick than the 86

320icar 11-23-2021 01:38 PM

Did I miss what year they’re thinking of releasing it? If it’s still 2-3 years away then I’m extremely tempted

EvoFire 11-23-2021 01:52 PM

I agree that the GR Yaris is better, but I also agree with what Toyota is doing. The Yaris is a hard sell in North America especially when they don't even offer a regular Yaris anymore.

trollface 11-23-2021 02:29 PM

Small cars no make money =(

JDMDreams 11-23-2021 03:06 PM

^^ small cheap cars don't deprecate doe, just look at fit, Yaris prices, especially since gas probably will keep going up. I think smaller cars might come back in. Just look at all the small cross overs.

trollface 11-23-2021 03:26 PM

That's not good if you're trying to sell more new cars.

Big cars cost marginally more to produce, but look at the avg price of a SUV compared to a compact. Make it rain.

If the RS was 49, the sti/golfr was 45 and the CTR was 48, I’d say about 45 I’d a good guess. But once you factor in the chip shortage and the current market issues, I’m going to say 54,995 with the stupid Toyota 5.99% interest

Assuming my finances will still be good, if it’s released for under 50 I think I’ll put my name down on a wait list

Are you building up a fleet of all the turbo AWD hatchbacks?

Looks pretty promising. I'll be bitter it's not a GR Yaris when I'm driving it but Toyota can still take my money. They would have to fuck up pretty bad for me to take my $50k hot hatch piggy bank elsewhere.

I can only dream about small cars coming back...
The GR Yaris is the only car I may even be tempted to get rid of my Fiesta ST for.

I have similar thoughts on the GR Yaris, it's one of those cars where I would just say shut up and take my money.

With the GR Corolla, I don't have much expectations from it. Probably just a standard Corolla shell with swelled fenders and digging into the GR Yaris parts bin.

I hope the GR Corolla is nothing like what happened in Thailand on their Nurburgring Edition.

Their Nurburgring Edition kind of sounds like the Apex Corolla

Tries to be sporty but horribly executed.

mad respect to Toyota
