Wear a charcoal mask during your workout, it will bring back memories of 2020

Nothing better than the smell of your own farts.

i lol'd so hard when a coworker explained to me for the first time what a dutch oven was

From sniffin' viruses to sniffin' farts -- we've come full circle.

68style 03-04-2023 12:28 PM

Both are often silent but deadly

MG1 03-04-2023 01:32 PM

Like it or no, I smell my own fart knowing this...............

https://www.healthline.com/health/di...althy#research

Lots of research out there with positives to taking a whiff. A deep whiff. The deeper, the better. However, depending on what you ate, the smell can peel paint off of walls.............. nuff said on the subject.

what the hell has this thread become? :lol

Funny the other day I was playing poker for the first time since pre-covid and no one at the tables are wearing masks. This one guy says "it's been 3 years, why you still wearing a mask?" It was pretty funny because those are probably the same people that thought masks weren't necessary when it was rampantly spreading.

I still remember the one year when we had almost 0 influenza cases during covid...

donk. 03-11-2023 05:38 PM

Probably a flat earther......

MarkyMark 03-11-2023 07:37 PM

Well no one else was wearing a mask so they all must be flat earthers. He was the only normal person in the casino.

covid -19 going spring forward with us

SSM_DC5 03-12-2023 08:29 AM

Updated study from precovid to now include covid data

https://www.cochranelibrary.com/cdsr...6207.pub6/full

Authors' conclusions
The high risk of bias in the trials, variation in outcome measurement, and relatively low adherence with the interventions during the studies hampers drawing firm conclusions. There were additional RCTs during the pandemic related to physical interventions but a relative paucity given the importance of the question of masking and its relative effectiveness and the concomitant measures of mask adherence which would be highly relevant to the measurement of effectiveness, especially in the elderly and in young children.

There is uncertainty about the effects of face masks. The low to moderate certainty of evidence means our confidence in the effect estimate is limited, and that the true effect may be different from the observed estimate of the effect. The pooled results of RCTs did not show a clear reduction in respiratory viral infection with the use of medical/surgical masks. There were no clear differences between the use of medical/surgical masks compared with N95/P2 respirators in healthcare workers when used in routine care to reduce respiratory viral infection. Hand hygiene is likely to modestly reduce the burden of respiratory illness, and although this effect was also present when ILI and laboratory‐confirmed influenza were analysed separately, it was not found to be a significant difference for the latter two outcomes. Harms associated with physical interventions were under‐investigated.

There is a need for large, well‐designed RCTs addressing the effectiveness of many of these interventions in multiple settings and populations, as well as the impact of adherence on effectiveness, especially in those most at risk of ARIs.

And then you can follow up with this

Cochrane Says Review Does Not Show That ‘Face Masks Don’t Work’ Against Covid-19
Is that a double or trippple negative or no negative at all, because they cancel each other out after the fact........... or is it just double talk? Like the article.

I need my hour of sleep.................

I've probably played poker live 50 times since Covid, most don't wear masks some do, I personally am never wearing a mask unless I have to. I would never say that to you though, if you want to wear a mask do it. I'd say maybe one in thirty at the poker tables in Langley do, probably more Downtown or Richmond, in Vegas I'm guessing one in 200 last year. I'll be in Vegas for WSOP in June, not sure how many masks I'll see but to your point I did get Covid last year at WSOP. :)

MG1 03-12-2023 01:43 PM

Yeah, people who bring it up are dicks.

It's everybody's choice.

"Buddy, I'll take off my mask when I lick your wife's pussy...........which one is your wife, again?" Oh........... never mind (as you make that face).

One skanky woman at the casino comments, "What's with the gloves?" I do the, "pull the gloves on," motion and say, "Wouldn't you like to know........" Yeah, she shuts up and walks away. Not all asians are passive, bitch.

BTW, I have gloves on because dudes at the casino never wash their hands after they touch their sausage in the washrooms. Those buttons on the slots are filthy as fuck.

Hondaracer 03-12-2023 01:50 PM

So you wear gloves in the casino.. so you can touch all the “dirty” shit and then touch your wallet, phone, etc.

Great logic.. there is a reason why they came out saying wearing gloves for everything is the most ineffective form of prevention. Imo if you’re that worried about germs, I don’t know what you’re even doing in a casino.

Ignorance is bliss

Dude I use the hand sanitizers and only use one hand when playing. You're the ignorant one here, my friend.............

sanitize hands, then put on gloves. Put loyalty card in and money. My limit for the day. Wallet is put away. Keeps me from losing my shirt. Know your limit and play within it. After I'm done, I cash out and use sanitizer. The gloves are disposable and I keep three pairs in my back pocket at all times. I also have dry cracked hands. Open cuts and whatnot. The gloves help with the healing.

anyway..................... don't know why I have to justify anything to a guy like you (buddy guy of the worst kind).

god bless.

I'm worried about germs but it doesn't mean I have to live in a bubble. I have nothing against others not wearing a mask but it was more of this one person egging me on about why I'm still wearing one. I work in healthcare and have seen the worst of the worst, so I am probably a bit more sensitive when it comes to protecting myself and my loved ones.

Funny enough, I stacked him for a $800 pot when I was first to act and bet pot size for my nut flush for him to reraise me all in. Snap called him. GG

SkinnyPupp 03-12-2023 10:38 PM

Funny how the "freedom" anti maskers now take issue with people who CHOOSE, using their FREEDOM, to wear masks when not mandated to.

MG1 03-12-2023 11:55 PM

^ nailed it.

AzNightmare 03-13-2023 01:03 AM

NGL, I've sort of grown to enjoy wearing masks because I like feeling anonymous when I'm out in public.

I also have a bottle of hand sanitizer in my car. Just a good habit to have sanitizer conveniently assessible so that I can use it first thing every time I get back into my car.

And always wash my hands with soap and water first thing every time I come back home.

MG1 03-13-2023 02:31 AM

Dumbest thing I've seen so far is a Costco worker taking a piss, then going to the basin to wash his hands. He pretends to wash his hands. Activates the auto faucet and doesn't even get his hands wet.............. goes and pulls a paper towel. I was going to say something, but didn't. Place was pretty crowded, at the time. I hope he's a cart guy and not a food court person.
