Dr Karen Pinder

I cannot believe this many people think that Covid is over and willingly gather like this. From last night's Celebration of Light in Vancouver.

Skids were you at?!?!??

"Listen to the health authority! It isn't safe!"
"Don't listen to the health authority! It isn't safe!"
These quit the world doomsday covid people are just as fucking annoying as the antivax dipfucks that are still talking about how they are "the most persecuted group of people in history"
Everyone shut the fuck up about it and get on with your lives until it happens again with a new disease 5 years from now.
Speaking of which, there's a new retard supergroup of various members of 90s bands that were kicked out of their respective bands for being idiots. Members of smashmouth, offspring, and mighty mighty bosstones singing about how hard it is to be a 50 year old unvaccinated white guy in the US lol.

My family of 3 (wife and 12 month old) all got covid last month. It was my first go at it. Wasn’t the most unpleasant thing ive ever experience but I was shocked how quickly it passed through. Gone in 5 days without lingering effects. Whereas a cold I usually feel for weeks. That’s with being up all night with the little guy. His prolonged fevers were pretty fucking scary.

EvoFire 07-25-2023 09:07 AM

If you've got your pfizer or moderna shots it's not too bad. I got it last year and honestly the reactions to the shots were worse than the sickness itself.

mikemhg 07-25-2023 11:26 AM

Well I'd say her name being Karen is quite fitting :lol

That name isn't a misnomer -- Karen's really are buzzkills.

Badhobz 07-25-2023 12:40 PM

Poor Karens. Its not even a bad sounding name, stupid internet ruined a perfectly good name and now anyone named Karen gets this lame ass connotation associated.

Id name my kid Karen Chad Incel the 4th

are people still considering getting sick that it's from COVID? are people still testing?

whitev70r 07-25-2023 02:48 PM

^ oh yah, people still test to see what it is that they are getting sick from, if it's common flu or Covid. Just a quick rapid test for confirmation ... guess people just like to know.

SkinnyPupp 07-25-2023 03:55 PM

I got it in January, and while it wasn't a brutal experience it took several weeks to fully recover. Maybe it's weaker now... When I get a cold or flu, when it's gone, it's gone. With covid I felt weak for probably a month.

Covid made its way around the wife's daycare last week. Kid brought it in (they think) and passed it onto 2 adults. No other kids got sick, although they could have had it in their system. It's definitely still around, although it does appear to be scaled down quite a bit in terms of severity/length as well as potential serious symptoms.

Almost everyone is vaccinated now so the effects are small. Try hitting some one with no vaccines, they'll have the time of their life.

Covid is still a massive problem in China but it's all swept under the rug. Wife's cousin's mom passed away from covid late last year. One of my mom's friend's mom (the friend is younger than my mom) is on death watch right now and mom's friend just flew back to China to see her. Yes they are all older, but it's still killing a lot of people, especially the old, weak, or unprotected.

I'm surprised it is getting blocked on your phone! On my computer at home, I have no problem looking at the Instagram post.

The IG post from Radio Free Asia is originally posted in Chinese, but I have included a Google Translate-ed version of it in spoiler tags, and it is doing a pretty good job of converting it into some sensibly readable English. FWIW, RFA is a US government-funded private non-profit corporation operating a news service that broadcasts radio programs and publishes online news, information, and commentary for its audiences in Asia, and I would say the news it puts out are factual and reliable in that regard.

The first flu and pneumonia outbreaks after years of lockdown are going to be extra brutal, especially on kids who never got to develop their immune systems

Looks like something is coming around again. The same symptoms and very contagious but no one in my circle has tested positive for it. On Wednesday, my boss came into the office hacking, I thought it was smokers cough but the next day I was feeling VERY tired. Like falling asleep grocery shopping. I attributed it to the 11 hr shift I worked the day before and the 8 hrs straight on that day. But then on Friday I was so tired I couldn't get out of bed and had an itchy throat. By the evening (and Saturday), my coworker got sick too and we both had chills, fever, body ache, headache, loss of taste/smell, but didn't test positive. I woke up this morning with a headache and a BURNING throat.

Anecdotally, our warehouse guy called in sick on Wednesday and Thursday but he was feeling well enough to come into work on Friday. Two of my boss' friends caught something similar, but he thinks he got it on his flight back from SF.

westopher 12-03-2023 09:54 AM

I think I had it a few weeks ago. Hit my wife harder than me. Who knows though, didn't bother testing. One person at work had it though for sure around a similar time so makes sense it would be. I was just moderately sick for a few days. Wore a mask at work a couple days but felt good enough to work.

MarkyMark 12-03-2023 10:11 AM

So many people at my work have been sick lately and then they come in coughing and sniffling, like fuck off and stay home. I've managed to avoid getting sick so far but flu season has arrived.

Qmx323 12-03-2023 10:21 AM

I had it late October, however, I tested on day 1 of symptoms and was negative.

I didn't test positive until 3 days after the onset of symptoms, so one negative test is not indicative of whether you have it or not.

Fortunately I was already off from work during those 3 days.

donk. 12-03-2023 12:49 PM

The real question is, how many of you are getting your next covid shot.

I got my 3rd + regular flu shot at the same time a few weeks ago. I asked buddyguy that gave it to me, and he said that 90% of people were getting both shots. Only 10% were getting just the flu shot.

After having covid once, i want nothing to do with that, ever again

Wheres Skidz and CharlesInCharge at?!?!?

N.V.M. 12-03-2023 01:18 PM

I had a flu shot 3 weeks ago, but said no to Covid. in that time, 4 guys at work have had something bad, 2-3 days off bad and it wasn't covid. I found out they all had flu shots too.

sooo, what happens next, I'm sick all this weekend. it's not a cold, it's not a cough it's not covid. is there a new flu going around?

I got covid last week. Very mild symptoms just a sore throat and cold symptoms. Got my last booster a month ago. Tested negative just in time for vacation to hawaii.
Kids and wife didnt get it from me..sucked wearing a mask for a week.

Teriyaki 12-03-2023 05:54 PM

Not really covid related but I was just in the mall today and was aghast at how many people were coughing and hacking away, sneezing. Especially egregious were those that just sneeze right into the open air and not into their hands or elbows. JFC. I really thought we all learnt better but alas...
