T&T @ Coquitlam Centre has face masks $30/box of 50, limited 2.

Safeway on Austin Avenue had hand sanitizer. The ones made by Central City Brewing Company. It is not gel type. Alcohol (duh) based. $12.99. You have to ask for it. They have it hidden in the back. Limit of one. Now I have to look for small spray bottles.

https://centralcitybrewing.com/centr...nd-sanitizers/

I picked up a box of masks at Sakuraya yesterday for a friend who doesn't care what kind of mask he gets. I wouldn't buy it, but whatever.

I was driving down Winston Street when I saw this, "Masks for Sale," sign. I immediately pulled a yuey (not a huey or louie) and went into this place called, Fibre Crown Moulding. They had masks alright, but very expensive. Bordering on price gouging. I always wanted to try those foldable KN95 masks. I couldn't bring myself to buy 5 for 25 bucks. I don't know.......... is that normal price? If anyone can find a better deal, let me know.

They are averaging 15-20 bucks on aliexpress for 5. Prepare to wait 3-4 weeks for shipping though. And, most of these KN95's are only meant for dust protection.

Side note, Shoppers along Broadway had some stock of rubbing alcohol and aloe vera gel. Good opportunity to make DIY hand sanitizer.

Question, instead of these disposable ones, ever considered getting legit filter homemade cloth ones? I have a few auntie who are legit seamstresses making them and not sure if I should revert to those instead. pros or cons?

Some more local spottings thought I'd share if people are still looking or waiting for shipments.

Foody World in Richmond continues to have plenty of stock of masks. Now they stock KN95 too it seems. Package of 5 for $20.

Surgical Masks also available from T&T.
Pack of 50 for 29.99, one of the cheaper options I've seen and no shipping wait.

Just yesterday. Yaohan Location in Richmond. Other T&T's probably have some as well. I don't think they're being hoarded anymore.

They also had bottles of Isopropyl Alcohol (99%) in stock. Believe they were... $7/bottle. Also plenty in stock when I walked by.

Just an interesting 2-cents, the masks that are sold at the asian supermarkets typically say "disposable" face masks as opposed to "surgical" or any other name because there are new regulations that are required for the masks if you use the word "surgical" etc. However, if you take out that word and just put disposable then any company or supplier can sell.

Hondaracer 04-29-2020 01:52 PM

at this rate wont need a mask by the time mine come..

can be washed and reused plus also helps the aquarium

MelonBoy 04-29-2020 02:59 PM

Careful with the T&T masks btw. The one close to my place had some for sale last week but didnt have any rating at all on the box. Probably just regular dust masks.

Also tried a mask from my aunt who bought a pack from Canadian tire. No rating and it was noticeable thinner then the ones I have.

Make sure its rated guys! At least level 1(95% filtration)
The nurses and doctors use level 2-3 masks (99% filtration), its for a reason!

Is everyone having a problem finding hand sanitizer? Could possible do another group buy from same supplier for hand sani.
Let me know who's interested and if there seems to be enough ill try set it up (no promises tho lol)

Manic! 04-29-2020 03:32 PM

Canadian Tire has 20l hand sanitizer for $249. Maybe you guys on the mainland can split a bucket.https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/t...-1531180p.html

for $20 or so you can also get a pump that screws onto those lids, much easier to pour into individual containers etc.

Thanks for the Canada Computers heads up guesswho... super easy to order a couple boxes online and swing by a few hours later when they were ready since it's just up the road from me. Done and done.

They were selling a pouch of hand sanitizer for $21 at Shoppers on Cambie/No. 5. Wasn't cheap, but it's located at the cash counters if you need it in a pinch. It may have been 750ml...but don't quote me on that
