Are there any updates for paying or picking up for the masks?

Since things have been selling out/falling through/being delayed I've been trying to order small amounts from multiple sources without buying up too many any once (I am trying to get some for 6 households though) in the hopes that at least some will actually show up, so for me having a couple going on at the same time would be beneficial.

I misunderstood they were N95, but if not, I recently just bought 2 boxes of surgical masks so I'm not in dire need of more. So I would like to know more info when possible.

Can't really speak on behalf of the people but if I had to guess it's any one of the following reasons just to name a few.

- Local don't have to worry about shipping and when it will arrive
- Trusted source, lots of fakes out there
- Cheap relative to what you're paying for any other level i.e. up to $5/mask for N95's
- Level 1, 2, 3, or N95, anything is better than nothing

Pictures have been posted on original post.

I've reviewed the test result certification from the supplier. The rating of the mask is FFP2, but not for medical environment.

FFP2 is the equivalent of N95 filtration wise. FFP2 masks offer protection from fine toxic dusts, fibres, aqueous mists, and oil based mists. CE Marked.
(I believe FFP2 is the EU rating system)

As these mask do not provide a complete seal like N95s. They are not allowed for medical use but will be fine for us

Also wanted to mention. The pricing does not include tax. So it will be $35+tax , $40+tax..

That's great! Thank you! Is there a deadline when we need to order by?

Ch28 04-09-2020 04:07 PM

Interesting to note that the Certificate of Compliance in the original posts lists it as KN95, but the box clearly states they're FFP2 masks.

It is listed for KN95 + Disposable protective face masks

Deadline will be tomorrow. I will talk to the owner to see when he can arrange pick ups.

Please DM me your phone number if you are still interested and I will write it down on my paper copy of the order list. (keep everyone's privacy)

OP says that they have ISO certificates like the other impending seller has, and is going to show me after redacting some sensitive contact information.

I really think this is GTG and maybe once I confirm the certs, OP can pull the trigger on the order, and we can do a second group buy with the other guy.

UPDATE: I received 3 documents.

1) FDA registration (this doesn't really mean anything)
2) BFE test report: PASS (BFE means 3 microns - remember though that surgical masks aren't to block virus cells, but the mucous they are contained in)
3) KN95 test report for EU standard: FFP2 PASS (FFP2 masks have a minimum of 94% filtration percentage and maximum 8% leakage to the inside)

Maybe OP can clarify if the second test was for the separate KN95 models they are making but not being offered here.

IMO these will be fine for basic protection, probably about as good as you're going to find these days. Anything higher should be left for health care workers anyway. That's just my opinion though, you can decide for yourselves

I thought KN95 masks are suppose to look like this?
https://www.ipromo.com/blog/wp-conte...le-updated.jpg

Don't get me wrong, these masks probably meet the FFP2 EN 149 standards. And more than enough for general public's use. But just doesn't quite add up to why the certificates are for KN95 masks. Seems like a random certificate taken off an Aliexpress seller's page...

i don't need medical grade, just extra barrier, so i'm good to go on this. just to confirm, op needs phone number for all ppl that are requesting box(es)?

Ludepower 04-10-2020 05:19 AM

I'm satisfied with what Melon has. Let's doo dis!

TOS'd 04-10-2020 10:36 AM

This may be of some interest for more visually inclined people.
As you can see in the table, it looks like a Surgical Mask, and claims to block out microns with the effectiveness of an FFP2 rating.

You probably tripped the spam filter, I'm guessing you tried to mass message everyone. Dunno if Rogers/Fido system works the same as the one I know, but the block should time out at some point and restore your SMS privileges.

Yeah, way more uptake in Asia for WhatsApp/WeChat/Line etc.

Here, I still need to explain to people the difference between a SMS and an iMessage.

Hi guys!

I’m immunocompromised/don’t drive due to illness so I can’t leave the house.

For future orders, is there any way I can get these mailed to me if I send extra $?
Probably looking at 2-4 boxes. (2 for me and 2 for my mom - also immunocompromised)

I live in Surrey. My mom lives in Coquitlam.

If not, no worries at all!
Thank you in advance!!

I still use it as much as possible, partly because it needs the bare minimum connection to get through when you don't have good service, and partly because Messenger/WhatsApp/whatever have zero privacy.
