The general issue seems to be that the ear loop style can have fitment issues. If you're not getting a good fit/seal it's no better, or in some cases, worse than a t shirt or bandanna.
They may not meet the N95 needs for the medical professionals, but for everyone else, they're ok as long as you can get a good fit/seal.

lol fucking eh but even then they say it might not mean anything because the ones they tested could be counterfeit?

Artscow now has a message on their site specific to Canada saying delays “may take months”

...

Ludepower 05-17-2020 01:06 PM

Yea over a month wait still. Thanks for the Covid artscow. Apparently theres duties owing as well? Awesome.

Hondaracer 05-17-2020 01:07 PM

I’m tempted to just do a CC chargeback and inform my CC company the tracking number no longer works. Wonder if that would be enough to justify it?

SkinnyPupp 05-17-2020 03:30 PM

I wouldn't blame artscow; it's difficult if not impossible to ship from HK to Canada right now. We tried sending my wife's mom a Mother's Day package, and were turned away at the post office. Surface mail only, which can take 1-3 months (and they said there would be a delay on surface mail as well).

Since airmail and EMS are suspended, a lot of people are turning to FedEx and DHL, which are now overwhelmed and seeing huge delays.

The people who got their orders in early are lucky. The rest are just more victims of the issues related to coronavirus.

beatdownvictim 05-17-2020 05:13 PM

Wait EMS is suspended..lol no wonder i still havent gotten anything in month and a half

SkinnyPupp 05-17-2020 06:30 PM

Yup, HK post is mostly suspended; service availability depends on where you're shipping to. North America is surface only, while other countries are completely suspended, and others are completely fine. Check this page for details.

Lysol wipes spotted at Walmart in NewWest last night at 8:00 pm. 5 bucks and change. Costco is way cheaper, but comes in once or twice a week. If you’re desperate, I guess it’s worth it. I should have posted this last night. Phone before going. Lots of people were walking buy and not purchasing.

A saw a shelf full at Metrotown yesterday afternoon as well (around 4PM). I grabbed one so I could sanitize my desk at work. Was surprised to see that many and nobody going in and hoarding. $5.47 each. Their house brand is half the price, but none available yesterday.

if i remember correctly it was 23 for 6 cans of lysol wipes at costco. any idea of when it comes in? can't possibly go everyday to look.

thanks

MG1 05-19-2020 04:21 PM

The employees don't know when it comes in. Of the two locations I go to, Brighton Avenue and Willingdon, Brighton Avenue seems to receive it more often. Costco does get a lot of them. You go to any location and they'll have them in strategic locations for customers to use, plus one at every till. Dude at Brighton who controls the lineup has a cart with a tall sign on it that reads, "Line Starts Here," or something like that. The cart has half a dozen Lysol containers in it. I think Costco is hoarding the stuff, gulolol.

As for hand sanitizer at Costco, that stuff smells like ass...........still, not as bad as Superstore's concoction.

twitchyzero 05-20-2020 12:06 PM

did a mask fitting and those 'KN95' no-name china-made examples failed within seconds

Lysol Disinfectant Wipes at Superstore Coquitlam $4.95. About 60 left.

Are the group buys still happening? How much per box?
I read the first page, im not sure when it was updated when OP stated that his plug ran out.

ursher 05-22-2020 09:57 AM

ordered 2 boxes of facemasks off Artscow on March 31 standard mail service. Contacted them telling them I will do a chargeback, they said wait two more weeks til June 6 and they will investigate if its lost or whatever the issue is with Canada Post. Told them to F off and it's their problem not mine so I will do a chargeback if it's not arrived by June 6th. They said they will do a full refund instead.

Vansterdam 05-22-2020 10:07 AM

yea my 2 boxes are MIA too. I never filed a chargeback before. might have to try

Canada Computers restocked their masks if anyone wants this type

MG1 05-22-2020 12:01 PM

Has anyone here purchased from these people before?

https://canadamasksupply.ca

Waiting on these people to make their products available to the general public. Now if we had some sort of group buy with this company, I'd be all over it. Sorry, but anything made in china scares the hell out of me.

I talked to the moderator and shoei as well here, I have masks available. Sadly they're all made in China. I can do $30 per 50 pieces. They're 3 ply and come in bags of 10. They are NOT medical masks. I'm in Richmond/westside area to meet up. Can ship across Canada.

I have first aid/cpr/food safe schools across Canada if you want to pick them up from those schools (Vancouver, Surrey, Coquitlam, Kelowna, Edmonton, Calgary (SW NE or SE), Regina or Winnipeg). $30 is cash or etransfer, I accept credit cards but please not just for 1 box if possible (fees are always high). We do mask fits for kn95 and n95 as well. I have niosh etc available for mask fits. You can bring your own mask for mask fits as well.

ilovebacon 05-30-2020 10:13 PM

Any updates?

MG1 06-02-2020 11:08 AM

Sent PM. Waiting for reply..............

Manic! 06-02-2020 11:31 AM

Costco is now selling masks a box of 50 for $28.

MG1 06-02-2020 12:40 PM

They’ve had a steady supply for over a week. I’m looking for the N95 or KN95.
