Edit: I see what you're asking. Like why the damage is mostly on the front right side (passenger side). It's most likely cause I wasn't parked as close to the curb to avoid curbing my wheels LOL. So the car was slightly offset. |

Plus, it's not like he's getting two. ICBC is going to pay for this one. |
Icbc takes months to pay out + they might even try to repair the car. My last car had a $3500+ repair bill on a car worth maybe $5000 :fulloffuck: maybe it's e60 m5 time:pokerface: |
Did the first BMW go to ICBC yet? Or are there just smashed up cars scattered around your place? |
My 330 is still in my garage. So the poor M3 was parked outside for a week cause I needed to swap the steering rack (faster), trim (cooler zhp bits), door cards (cooler alcantara/cloth), and shifter (race car bro) from the 330 to the M3. Ironically, the M3 is with ICBC rn. |

my vote is go for another m3 but just drive it for a while as-is only mod as you see fit, then sell off the remaining parts in demand all it takes is a split second for another careless driver to take away from the blood sweat tears |
I should just rename this thread "The BICBAWS accident" thread. Anyway, my thread, so I figured I'd give a health update. Won't know anything about if the car is a write off until Thursday. I just went to an active rehab. I'm so fucking frustrated. I felt like I was on the road to recovery. And now it feels like I can't do anything. Like fuck. I'm so pissed off and like I feel like I'm back at square negative 5. I'm much worse than my first session last week. Like he was telling me to relax and I didn't know how to relax my shoulders. Like fuck. I'm so fucking mad at life right now. I feel so debilitated. Like every issue I had today, I didn't have in the first active rehab session last week for the first accident. The worst part is knowing that since we're in Canada, this kid is probably just going to get a slap on the wrist. Meanwhile, I have to build my life back up AGAIN. For thread relevance: E90 M3 would be cool too. I know that thing is probably a boat, but no one is gonna tell you it's a cornering machine HAHA |
Haven't checked in for a while. Man, this absolutely sucks! And I thought I had it rough when I lost my C7 to a flood after fewer than 10 days of ownership. I don't know how I'd react if someone crashes into my car due to their recklessness. Things may look bleak now but focus on taking a rest and recovery right now. Really hope the recovery goes well for you. Oh and of course it's a Mustang... Obligatory Mustang joke brought to you by a Camaro owner. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...89ed81792c.gifhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a80ab6b3ad.gifhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...fbbc329160.gif |

^ lol if that's how it worked everyone would buy beaters for inflated prices and park them outside Vancouver mustang meets |
Does the purchase price on the ICBC sales form have any bearing on the amount you get from ICBC? I don't think so, I think they have a chart/grid of car values. |
Transfer form amount has absolutely no bearing on accident payout. |
Wait and see what OP says then. If your car value is based on current market price... Why would icbc not try to say your recent sale IS the current value. Remember they're out to make money. |
I know a few estimators. A few years ago they told me if it's $50 cheaper to repair a car vs write it off they would repair it. Is that no longer the case? On the other end, the good news is ICBC has been super generous the past dozen or so years. Those girls have no idea of car values but the truth is they really don't want to deal with complaining customers. |
Update on this: Still have the 330 in my garage. Still haven't been paid out for either. But I've come to a conclusion to what I want. My commute is about 22km or about 20mins +/- 5min depending on traffic. It's not terrible. It was terrible yesterday cause of an accident on the Alex Fraser. I had a 2017 Corolla as a courtesy car for a week. I'm surprised. Well it's a corolla, but I'm surprised that the adaptive cruise control (ACC) proved so useful. RS member, AstulzerRZD, also my friend who commutes in Seattle, Toronto, New York, etc mentioned that ACC is basically the best thing ever - it totally takes the stress off driving. I didn't really get it until I tried it. Leads me to my next thing, I think the ideal one car does all car would be a..... Golf R. I haven't decided between manual or DSG, but I heard with DSG it basically goes to stop by it self and starts by itself. Golf R owners chime in? I would also consider any other fun car with decent ACC/lane centering. My fun car choices are now: E90 M3, 987 Cayman S, or a cheap rebuilt frs for the track LOL. But I'll most likely get a Golf R to daily in first. Quote:
FA5 still understeers like a mofo. Drove the same one to a camping trip this past summer. Guess I went into the corner too hot or well thinking it'd be ok cause its ok in my 330, but nope, tons of understeer. I ironically think understeer is more terrifying than oversteer. |

Auto start/stop gets annoying as fuck though, so I switch it off as soon as I start the car. |
