So it's basically a "Racecar" (spelled the same way forwards/backwards, upper and lower case "r" used to distinguish between the lights) so you both win

makes a lot more sense to own a $10k boxster than a $40k 996

always have my eye out for a cheap base facelift 2003-04 w the power bump. basically poor(er) mans 986 boxster S

nice car

Beauty is being not only on the outside but inside as well.

That being said, so many people have been taking photos of my car but no one has appreciated the inside haha. The cars inner beauty (interior) actually has become really important to me over the years.

Isn't the maintenance on a 10k boxster the same as a 40k 996 doe?

Even if it was you’d have 30k more for maintenance.

It really boils down to what you find and are after. Having owned both a 986 and 996, they both have the same issues when they aren't properly maintained as they share a lot of parts. I've been lucky where both my Porsches have only required basic maintenance such as oil changes. Anything else was preventative such as the cooling system.

There are often a lot of owners out there who have taken really good care of their cars and will put them up for sale when they upgrade to something else, and those are often good bang-for-buck buys. They often come with stacks of receipts and records so you can buy with confidence.

looks great!

I often wonder though whether or not VPD or cops will nab you for these types of mods and slap you with a VI.

It is technically illegal to have the license plate mounted that far back so they can issue you a ticket or VI if they want but I’ll take my chances lol

With the market this hot - it's only natural that I.....posted it for sale

Going to see what I can get and weigh my options before I commit to a full repaint + get the rust fixed.
