Look at an instant pot. It has a Sous-vide function built in. No need for a separate container. Also Air frys and pressure cooks. Paid $99 for mine last year. The only downside is the size of the pot.

Looking for a 3.5" 6 to 8TB HDD, as well as a 2.5" 4TB portable HDD.

Cheapest I've seen so far is $189 for an 8TB last week, and $150 for a portable 5TB this week.

I'm still torn between whether I should pick up an e-scooter during the BF sale. While I certainly want one, they seem to be a PITA with inner tire tubes popping far more frequently than I'm used to see with bicycles. And then they are a PITA to work on...

This is fantastic monitor and is an all time low for price. Last year when it was on sale for $450/500, there were huge delays in delivery where some people didn't get theirs until Feb.

Looking to get into the smart home tech for my apartment. What do I need to get this set up going? Complete noob on this. Main thing I want is for bedroom light, since the light switch it as the door, sometimes a nuisance when I'm lying in bed watching a video on my ipad and too lazy to get up to turn off the lights lol.

I've set up my place with a combination of Wyze and Mysa for electric baseboards.

https://www.amazon.ca/HS200P3-Lighti...7436261&sr=8-6

I am a big fan of WYZE, so you might want to look into that.

Their Canadian web store has recently become available, but their US (web) store has far more products available for sale. With the border re-opening, as long as you are willing to pick stuff up from PR / Blaine, you'd be able to purchase any of their stuff.

When I moved in I went with this

https://www.amazon.ca/Philips-Hue-Di...%2C230&sr=8-12

I liked that I could add a dimmer switch without having to remove the existing switch and mess with any wires (not that it's super hard). Of course I can also control it with my phone or google home by speaking. Additionally, you can remove the control from the wall plate and have it by your bed so it really covers all basis.

Of course the downside the being on the Philips eco system can get very pricy but I mean the bulbs last a long time. I'm going on 3.5 years and expect go go at least another 3.5 if not more.

Google Home connects with a lot of stuff. I felt the key was to decide on a eco system (Google, Apple, Ring, Wyze).

I've had my e-scooter for about 2 years now, love it! Luckily I have only popped two tires so far because it is indeed a PITA to replace. My buddy helps me out with it each time. There are some local e-scooter/e-bike shops that offer service but the cost and turn around time is pretty slow..

During summer between June and August, I only filled up on gas once. Rode the scooter almost every single day to work. Over the course of two years, that alone has more than covered the cost of the scooter in my case.

Someone who was an earlier adopter to making their home smart told me the same thing if I ever wanted to make my home smart.

Has anyone spotted one of those LG steam closets available locally? Like at any of the Costcos?

It's cheaper to buy in the US but if a local Costco has stock I'd opt for that than the hassle of going to the states (Costcos website can't ship to BC)

i've been thinking of a robot vacuum b/c i'm getting more and more lazy, but can't decide which is best, and the ones that 'learn' seem to be double that of the ones that just go in a straight line.

any deals/recommendations?

twitchyzero 11-21-2021 08:55 AM

i had a 'dumb' one but it would keep getting stuck and couldn't go over the bump of the door frame area half the time

bite the bullet and get one with lidar
