Putin: This is equivalent to armed mutiny. Russia will defend itself. We are fighting for the life and security of our citizens, and our territorial integrity.
Everything must be done to put this to rest. It is an attempt of subversion. It is treason. This is a stab in the back of our troops in Russia.

So it's officially a coup attempt I guess. Not possible with 25K troops, but with reports of MoD soldiers switching sides, if that is legit and continues, the entire military might turn on Putin.
Or at the very least, they become so consumed with fighting on their own land, Ukraine can make significant advancements in taking back their territory.

Anyway, fight footage is starting to come out, so it looks like the Russian air force at least is fighting them. Wagner shot down a plane in the Voronezh region, waiting for someone to tweet it. There's a video of a plane going down taken from a Russian's back yard. Insane

Prigozhin probably won't live to see the end of the year, I think he would have been better off going through with the whole thing and going out with a bang. Putin is not known to hold true his word and he's way too paranoid to let Prigozhin live. Nor does Prigozhin have anywhere to hide at this point as he'd be crucified in a western country.

Prigozhin guy have been a hero ... even if he died on the sword. Would have went down in history for standing up to Putin. I sense that a lot of the avg Russian citizens doesn't agree with the Ukraine invasion. Would have shaken things up, I think.

“Why are average Russians on the street cheering people who just tried to carry out a coup?” Dougherty said. “That means that maybe they support them or they like them. Whatever it is, it’s really bad news for Putin.”
I agree with Jill Dougherty, CNN’s former Moscow bureau chief.
The average Russian has a different view of Putin now. He looks weak.
If Mr. Potato Head Prigozhin can challenge Putin with his own Wagner mercenaries, some Russians will think a coup is possible.
