2022 Black Friday
It's not a good as it used to be, but there are still some good deals to be had.
Shoppers Drug Mart is having a skookum Spend Your Points Event on Black Friday week (Nov 25 - Nov 30). $400.00 worth of stuff for 250,000 points. That's $150 free.
If you're into or getting into Cricut. All materials, tools, and mats are 50% off. Both via Cricut and Michael's. If you have a teacher friend, you can get a further 15% off at Michael's only. If you or your friend is registered as a teacher with Michael's, you can use their phone number. Just make sure if you're a he your friend is a he or she's a she (you get the idea). I don't think they really check. I wouldn't take a chance. Might get your friend's account canceled (not 100% sure).
Machines are on sale as well, but no further reductions and not 50% off. Michael's has same prices as Cricut.
If you or someone you know is wanting to get into turntables, I saw that the Marley Spin it Up is on sale at Best Buy. It's on sale for $249.00. This is a really cool entry level turntable. Friends don't let friends buy shitty turntables and record players like Crosley, Victrola, and the like. They will damage records in no time flat.
If you're an audiophile, this is the one day you must attend
The one day you can go into the place without an appointment. Yes, bring a towel to wipe the drool off the floor. Check out the virtual tour and product line....... McIntosh, ftmfw!
I like the looks of it. Saw it at Best Buy. Best part is, it is very eco-friendly. Believe it or not, Shoppers has them on their website. along with the really crappy stuff. Spend your points event............... hmmmmm.............
UPDATE: House of Marley Canada has the turntables for even less. The one on Best Buy and Shoppers is the lower model and sells on the Marley website for $199.00. The new improved model has added features like Bluetooth and volume control for output. It sells for $249.99 on the Marley website. Best Buy states the turntable they sell comes with Bluetooth, but in reality, it is the one without Bluetooth. I saw the turntables at Best Buy in Coquitlam on Wednesday. BTW, they look better in real life.

Forgot Cyber Monday.................. I totally wait all year to get gift cards from Lee Valley Tools. 15% off is the only time you can get anything on sale at Lee Valley. Aside from their "Special Buy" items. They also clear out some of their stock on Cyber Monday. On-line starting Sunday Midnight EST.

Gone are the days of huge lineups at Ikea, Future Shop, A&B Sound, etc.............. remember those days?
Local papers come out tomorrow (Thursday). Sometimes last minute deals are on the flyer inserts.
I remember lining up to get $300.00 worth of records, CD's DVD's for being the first three to be in the lineup. Got $250.00 gift voucher at Jysk one year. First one in line I was, gulolol. I think Ikea had some free vouchers for first 100 people in the line up........... not that long ago. Pre pandemic. Anyway, I'm retired.......... love beating off c-lai's trying to butt in line.
Hey, I went to five hour plus line ups at UBC for courses and books back in the dark ages. I'm totally used to it.

Although if past years are indication, if you need something, now's probably the time, Boxing Day is not a thing anymore.
Boxing Day is the worst.
Now is the time to get items, if you are looking for something specific.
Thing is, sales are on all the time or at least more often these days that special days like Black Friday and Boxing Day are a thing of the past. Still, it's worth looking into.

I avoid shopping during sales, empty bank account syndrome activates
With that said, my tv is on its way out, so I blew my load on a 65 Samsung for 800$ .....an incredible, mouth watering 100$ in savings
Il check back on boxing day to find out if I could have saved an extra 100$ by waiting for x weeks

I peruse RedFlagDeals for unadvertised deals and go from there, but for the past 2 years I find most of the electronics deals start happening a week or two before Black Friday. There were some deals this year including a price-error 65" LG C2 TV for $1,700 with 11% Rakuten Cashback, $695 on a Philips 3200 Super Automatic Espresso Machine, along with other general laptop / PC deals.

On-line lots, but locally, no.
Magic Box has a Boxing Day Sale, but not Black Friday. GoGo Hobbies has good prices all year round. The owner, Cam passed away last year, but friends are keeping the place running. I'd check them out if you haven't already. Good people.
Sorry I'm not much help in the area of RC's.

It has basically come to that now, and lots of retailers are either saying prices will not be lower on BF, or that they will refund any price difference if BF price was cheaper than their month-long BF sale.
As MG1 has already mentioned, we are having more sales more frequently nowadays, and the dramatic effect of BF / Boxing Day have really become a thing of the past. It's difficult to say which way makes for a more enjoyable consumer experience though. But I suspect that for the retailers, more frequent sales at less than spectacular prices are probably better off for their bottom line.
Gotta have more vinyl, lol. Although, I've been hopping onto the SACD bandwagon as of late.
I have a good collection of DVD-Audio, but too few players can read them. The Alpine F#1 Status in the car can as well as the Sony UBP-X800M2 in the media room. However, the source material is nearly extinct. I have not seen any DVD-Audio produced in the last 15 years? Lol. SACD's have won the battle. Having said that, I've been getting SACD's through MoFi (Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs). The guys who produce the Direct from Masters stuff. Their LP's are the best of the best. No Black Friday sale. They don't need to get into it. Their stuff is in huge demand. In fact, their limited production copies (analog and digital) go for like hundreds of dollars on the market. Some, you cannot get at any price. I'm awaiting Michael Jackon's Thriller on SACD from MoFi. Got this last year. https://mofi.com/products/mfsl45ud1s...pm_2lp_box_set
Picked up some outdoor string lights and outdoor xmas lights from Amazon UK as it's impossible to find good ones here... Had to sign up for prime to get the deal, but it's a free trial
