He doesn’t seem to fit that title completely. That’s very surprising he has kids.

Ooof. :inoutugh:

The people upset about this are the same people who support a man who has teenage girls walk in swimsuits in front of adult judges.

This is just the latest nothing burger of an issue for conservatives to get enraged about. Keep them distracted from the real issues. It's so predictable.

FYI in the US drag shows have been protested by the proud boys a group that's classified by the Canada and New Zealand as a terrorist group. Nice to see RS members agreeing with terrorist groups.

Drag queens are awesome, as is burlesque and other entertainment/art forms. That being said overall I wouldn’t consider it child friendly entertainment. It really depends on who the drag Queen is and exactly what the ‘routine’ was. I’d have to vet* it first.

Just a simple book reading session with a drag Queen would be fine. They’re usually very engaging, personable, great entertainers etc. no different than the female clown on ‘big comfy couch’

That post about someone in skin latex suit giving birth etc I don’t at all consider that child friendly

Right, and since you have a functioning brain, you know that one has nothing to do with the other.

This is just the new target instead of Dungeons & Dragons, Heavy Metal music, Rap, etc. It's not good enough to not want anything to do with it, they want to control what other people do as well.

I don’t really care. If the parents aren’t comfortable with it then don’t come. To host it at a public library is a bit poor in taste though. Maybe another venue would be more appropriate.

Id bring my chihuahuas and laugh

Oh, yeah.. must be religion

I'm not religious if that matters. And I went through 5yrs of Catholic school with 5yrs of catechesis classes fighting against my teacher.

And as a matter of fact, I was a moderate to strong liberal supporter 10yrs ago.

Unfortunately, liberalism has gone too extreme and I'm somehow too rightist now. :fuckthatshit:

I don't support the ideology that everyone is special, and they should be able to express themselves. And if they aren't achieving the same as others, such as acceptance or equality, it's because others are discriminating against them in one way or the other.

Sadly, the phrase "agree to disagree" no longer means what it used to. For the progressive liberals, it's either their way or no way. If they are different, they must be stupidly believing in religion or rednecks or have discrimination against whatever.

I will tell you what I see.

I support the idea that everyone is unique. And they are free to think/do anything to/with themselves as long as they respect the opinions of others. One doesn't need to force their ideology on the rest of society and acceptance. We are unique. We are bound to have differences that we cannot reconcile. And that is ok. Most of us are just ordinary. How many people do you personally know that have achieved top 100 worldwide/nationally in anything? Achievements are rare and often require either extraordinary talents or hard work. Most of us are ordinary, and that is ok.

My catechesis teacher was a strong believer, but he has always respected my idea that some of us don't share the same belief that he does.

This is another example where someone is looking to force their beliefs/value into acceptance.

If anyone says that drag queen is not children appropriate, they must be whatever-phobic. When really it's got nothing to do. You are free to be drag queen. When I see one, I don't see them any differently than any other stranger I see daily. But what business do they have with doing story time at a library? It is not a concept that I think it's appropriate to bring into for children in the age that go to the library for storytime. It's the same thing why we avoid vulgar language, violence... etc in children materials, because they are just not ready for it. It's got nothing with religious belief, phobia, discrimination. Just being a fucking parent and looking out for what's appropriate for kids.

JDMDreams 01-07-2023 09:06 PM

AzNightmare 01-07-2023 09:10 PM

I'm so very confused at what is happening and who would pay to watch that.. ?

Nvm, this is a free public event? Like I said, what is going on? lol.

I suck at coffee making and bought the Slayer for its look.:lawl:

Seriously though, light roast on a Slayer is incredible. Usually, LR is a no-no for espresso as it's usually flat... but with Slayer, it brings that complexity of flavor in an espresso drink. No other machines I've tried can make something close so consistently.

Gender reassignment surgery is much cheaper than the alternative of kids getting hooked at mission raceway. I’d almost be able to afford organic kale and free range duck eggs if I wasn’t exposed to the sound of high compression big blocks at a young age.

Legit. I’m not pushing my toddler into anything, but monkey see monkey doo. If he sees me watching car/motorcycle stuff on YouTube (especially if it’s kids karting or motocross) he goes “oh! Small ones! Me!?! Meee!?!?” Lol.

Poor guys already a lost cause

So your parents put you in a school run by an organization that has killed and rapped 100 of thousands of children around the world. But you are worried about drag shows?

It's crazy the amount of hate conservatives have.

The catholic church literally covered up the rape of hundreds of thousands of kids. I also have no reason to believe it has fully stopped.

You better wear a helmet then because this might surprise you. You don’t have to be catholic. Nor does being catholic automatically equate you into supporting child molestation. It’s not synonymous

Why shit on a religion that gives millions of people faith and peace. It’s fine that you don’t think it works but why would you try and take that away from people ? So what if they have a few bad eggs. I still know more excellent Catholics than I do excellent atheists. Live and let live.

Watch me trigger your ass : British rule over India brought enlightenment and modernism to your country. Yeah you like that ? How about dem apples ? Just leave the Catholics alone man.

A few bad eggs are you joking? Just in the US 4% of priests have been accused of sexual misconduct.

https://www.pintas.com/sexual-assaul...used-of-abuse/

Can't even find a world wide number because the problem is so big.

People need to worry about there own families and kids and not worry about what public events kids go to with there parents.

The irony. Do you even read your walls of nonsense before you hit post?

The drag queen that's doing story time at the Coquitlam library is a staple of the community: https://www.nsnews.com/in-the-commun...istmas-6226325

You can even watch a recording of her story time with the North Van library: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1174482669685710

Or read about her on CTV: https://bc.ctvnews.ca/drag-performer...uver-1.6197783

if this is what you're afraid of being in a library then I look forward to your protests and outrage about witches, clowns, cowardly lions (Real lions are NOT cowardly kids, they eat people!), and elves doing story time.

Edit: As has become the norm, anytime one reads "news" that's written by far right it's almost always manufactured outrage like how this article associates a harmless drag queen story time here with some inappropriate for children event in Florida. One google search of the performer would have cleared it up.
