Yikes, dude. Speaking as a parent of two kids - one of which is now as old as I was when I first joined Revscene -, I'm pretty positive they have more open mindedness and tolerance than you seem to be showing, thanks to much of the teachings that I, as a responsible parent, instilled on them.

Also, speaking as someone who once worked in the media, you really need to check the legitimacy of some of those sites you visit and people you follow...

There seems to be the libertarians who are truly tolerant and open minded based on... do what you will with your own life type values. but they are few.

I feel like most people are tolerant and open based on fear of repercussions of society.
They have to fit the current narrative and social agendas etc etc.

I mean that is pretty much the exact definition of society... People trying to "fit in" to live in harmony with one another. And lately the direction society has been going is more inclusiveness of races/gender identiy/sexualty/other stuff that isn't really a choice someone made.

Normally eventually such people would eventually get pushed out more and more to the fringes and underground, which has always been there. But I guess things are changing so rapidly with "online everything" that those weirdo families that used to live in creepy shacks nobody wanted to go near are now joining convoys and talking about protesting at libraries.

Eventually there will be some video of an event like this surface where some sweaty ball sac is dangling in a child’s face and these type of events will be permanently removed from public places because no one can ever just stay middle-ground and moderate with anything

Someone will eventually cross the line and quietly the general sentiment will shut it all down because someone ruined it, just wait.

for those of you showing outrage, why don't you visit the event without your kids and see whats going on then make your judgement of whether it's what you thought it would be based on your news source? maybe both sides should check it out and then see how it really goes down.

Again I don’t really care people are free to do what they want. I wouldn’t go nor do I think anyone I know would bring their kids to an event like this. But is a public library really the best venue for this?

If this event is so popular and well attended you can’t rent a private space which you, the event are responsible for?

Seeing that these have been continually demonstrated against going back a year now, hosting at yet another library and making it this big publicized event now just screams of promoting confrontation

Surely there are better venues for a book reading than a library
