Also Green Giant Cream Style Corn over rice. Hell, baked beans over rice. Cum to think of it, what doesn’t go well with cold leftover rice?

If my doctor ever told me to stop eating rice, I would much rather die.

This was my favourite instant noodle growing up. My mom used to buy them in boxes at Chong Lee's. They discontinued it probably over a decade ago and I miss eating this.

maybe cause i'm asian, but KD was never ever in my house so never got "into" it.

Then i was introduced in grade 5 about Chef B Ravoli in a can... it was a treat as a kid for me

ramen for sure and also wonton noodles will always have a place in my heart.

Chef Boy R Dee Ravioli straight out of the can……… damn. I miss it. Alpha-Ghetto not so much.

Wonton soup………. Do I foresee a mini meat at On Lock? I hear place has gone downhill since we had our last RS mini meat there.

Puritan meatballs in gravy.

It has to be Puritan brand anything else is a no go. Heat it up on the stove and pour it over cold rice. Heaven.

It’s the first thing I check out when I go to a Walmart :okay:

Lol when I was much younger in my teens and early 20s I was quite down with it and other canned good like it so I feel you. Now yea definitely not.

I'm a sucker for chips. Everytime gotta grab a bag when I grocery shop, and it'll be gone within 2 days at home. Then I'm on the exercise bike trying to burn that shit off lmao LOL.

pastarocket 01-24-2024 11:38 AM

Yeah, chips, in particular yam chips, are my guilty pleasure.

Terra Sweets and Beets yam chips.

GLOW 01-24-2024 11:43 AM

is alcohol food? these days it's spiced whiskey.
doll noodles are a solid choice if it has to be 'food'

bcrdukes 01-24-2024 11:44 AM

Doll brand noodle or Nissan noodle? :suspicious:

One is "gong jai meen" and the other is also called "gong jai meen" except it's actually 'chuut cheen yut ding"

Edit: I had to think really long about this but at first I thought it was coffee/espresso, but my wife said no, and said it was an addiction. :okay: So closest thing is probably instant noodle, particularly the Doll brand instant noodle. I don't have it very often. Maybe once or twice a year at most. I don't see it very often.

Only thing I can really think of is ice cream. Nice pint from Ernest..

The other thing lately I’ve been eating which I don’t know if you can count as a “guilty pleasure” and it’s gonna make me sound hella hold are Dates lol

The bag of organic dates from Costco are amazing

MarkyMark 01-24-2024 12:10 PM

Any kind of gummy candy, sour patch kids, fuzzy peaches, gummy bears, Swedish berries etc I'll eat a family size bag to myself in one sitting so I try not to buy the shit.

Hondaracer 01-24-2024 12:30 PM

Same, I don't buy it because I have no self control. Same goes with Chips, I allow myself to buy maybe 1 bag a month because if it's in the house forget about it that shit is dust.

That's a staple for us in the winter lol.. Except I use it as a base for chicken ala king, with chicken, onions, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, etc. Veggies would be cabbage or cauliflower. I also make a seafood version so it's kind of like the baked seafood you get in HK cafes. Use the Campbell's seafood mushroom version and add whatever seafood - fish, shrimp, squid, mussels, clams, etc. Bake with cheese before serving. Tip: use some cream and butter along with milk.

My real guilty pleasure is a bacon sandwich, I haven't had one in ages but for me a pack of crispy fried bacon between two pieces of white bread toasted and only mustard on it. D

Superstore carries these chip like things called popchips, haven't found them anywhere else.

If you have a chip craving these kind of hit the spot but a little bit better for you than chips. The baked potato and salt and vinegar are the best.

Fuck, the impact of inflation on chips seems insane these days. $4.50 for 128g bag of hardbite chips at save on ON SALE. Insane to me that fried potatoes now costs more than (locally) prepared meat, like local Red Barn Ham ($2.99/100g)

Is it like the popcorners you can get from Costco?

acrophobia 01-24-2024 04:37 PM

Cereal. As a kid we would always have a bowl of cereal as a snack when we got home from school. As an adult I have bowl for my morning snack and often before bed. Nothing crazy sweet, and often with regular milk, but blander cereal with chocolate milk.
