| Best Vacuum
So lets hear it, what's the best vacuum? I have my Dyson DC37 vacuum that still works wonders and they have a fantastic warranty (when the ex used it to vacuum up drywall dust )
What do you guys use?

Since this is a nostalgia to the 90's ... Electrolux Renaissance FTW. Before that, Filter Queen canister.
Now ... Dyson cordless for kitchen. For the rest of the house, some Cdn Tire special that is corded (generally better power than cordless ones, even Dyson).

What do you guys use? | This depends on your use case.
Thin carpet and lots of stairs? Dyson V15 and get the longest warrant you can.
Pets or thick carpet and not much stairs but lots of floor area? Miele caniester's your best bet.
I have both rn - my roommate brought the V15 and I brought the Miele.

I just use an Inse from Amazon... Dyson copy.. my parents and sister have one too.
Works great, no issues. Costs like 1/5th of a Dyson.

I like the Dyson for ease of use. On high setting it’s a beast, but battery doesn’t last long enough.
V10… our trigger broke and warranty was actually a pain. But they fixed it after all. Way overpriced.
My sister has an Amazon knockoff (it’s white), it’s way cheaper but doesn’t have near the suction.

I've had a corded Dyson that I bought around 2002 still going strong, never had an issue with it although we don't use it as much as we used to because this house has a built in and we also have another cordless vacuum that's just easier at times.

Depends on the flooring you have in your home usual recommendations are miele and sebo
I bought a miele with powered brush since i got a bunch of carpet in the home now. They sell cheaper mieles buy it doesnt have the power supply for brushes in them so be aware of that.

I've had lots of vacuums in the past. Most are now collecting dust more than sucking it up, gulolol. I have a built in vac and it's great, but lugging around the hose and stuff is a real pain in the butt. I have two Samsung mini canisters and two Dysons. I use the Dysons most of the time. My all time favourite, though, is the Miele C3 Complete. I have enough bags and filters to last me a lifetime. It's nice that Miele has a store in Vancouver for parts and accessories. Parq for free across the street (Casino).
I also have a washer dryer combo made by Miele. Has been running trouble free for over ten years (knock on wood).

I’ve got a V8 absolute we’ve had for 7-8 years now
I bought a replacement battery off Amazon that’s slightly larger capacity than the original one but I can vaccum 3/4 of my place on one charge. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a Dyson again
The only downside are those heads that have the roller for carpet/hardwood seem to eventually wear out and get so jammed up they aren’t really fixable

What do you guys use? | I love my Dyson DC32 (I think) - it's a corded canister/cylinder on wheels rather than a ball like yours. My only complaint is that I wish the hose was longer (but then I'm tall and have a long reach). I used it to suck up a lot of baking soda and had to get it serviced... Oops!
I'm not crazy about cordless vacuums - yes they're convenient but they're simply not as powerful as corded.
Edit: and eventually you will run into battery issues

nah man nah!
ya'll wrong.
Best vac, by a country mile is the dewalt shop vac at costco. 120 bucks, it does wet and dry plus it comes with a billion attachements. Ive used it to suck water out of a hot tub (hose attachement), reversed the hose and used it as a makeshift leaf blower, clean the car/suv from all the dog hairs, and sucked up leaves after i used the blower function. I LOVE THIS THING https://www.costco.ca/dewalt-10-gal....100564210.html |

If you are ever in the market for a new vacuum, I highly recommend checking out Vacuum Wars on youtube.
This guy tests every vacuum under the sun and puts together very easy to understand, comprehensive comparison tests and reviews. Especially if you're going to spend big money on one, it worth looking at.

I bought a V15 Detect on Black Friday to replace our old V7.
We have a Miele as well.
I think we've got everything covered. Though the Miele rarely gets used now since the V15 is powerful enough to cover more bases now.

Carpet=Miele
HW=Dyson, the newest green LED light is some serious shit. Allows you to see everything on the floor. But the bad part is that for person like me who has a bit of OCD, I can't stop vacuuming!!
Honestly though... my recommendation is just to get an iRobot or something, have it vacuum daily and buy whatever cordless one that fits your budget for anything the robot missed.
I got the new Dyson because it was on sale on BF and mine broke and we have been making do with the corded one.
But if it wasn't for that, I'd probably just get multiple iRobots, one for each floor and call it a day.

We've had a corded Shark Rocket for probably about 5+ years now, can't really say much more about it other than it does in fact suck!

Floor mats, dog hairs, gunk from the gutters. We just used it to suck the lint out of the dryer vent yesterday and then swapped it over to leaf blower mode and blew out the rest we couldnt get.

which one do you guys use for your cars though? needs to be portable enough to maneuver and have enough attachments to get into the cracks and crevices.

I was skeptical of the Dyson hype, but I got a V6 or whatever on sale and it really fucking sucks. Which for a vacuum of course means it works great. Works great on my tile floors. Only issue I have is the battery doesn't last long.
I remember watching a video on youtube, some engineer dude who takes tools apart, was looking at a Dyson, and he was pretty impressed by the design. All those weird tubes actually work to make it suck harder. The replicas you see on Amazon might look the same, and they might work fine, but they are just regular vacuum cleaners if they don't have the exact same design (which I don't think they can since it would be patented).

I would have bought a Dyson, but they don't make a Corded version of the stick vac. I don't have anywhere convenient to hang the vacuum that it's anywhere near a power outlet to plug a charger in.

I agree the OEM battery totally sucks, it died after a couple of years, then I replaced it with an aftermarket battery. Hasn't skipped a beat for 7 years total ownership.
The power head recently shit the bed, been keeping an eye out on FB marketplace for replacement parts.
But now I currently own a V15. It's been great around the house, only uses about 30% battery to vacuum up my 940sq coach house.
